Proving once again that it is the gayest channel on television, Bravo will feature Sandra Bernhard as a guest judge on tonight’s Project Runway.
The episode is titled “Bright Lights, Big City,” and the contestants will be using New York City as their muse to design an outfit for the out singer/actress/author/comic. I’m not sure how much Bernhard knows about fashion, but she’s a master of biting critique, and that’s exactly what I like in a reality television judge.
The episode airs at 9 p.m. EST. Afterward, viewers can chat live online with Bernhard at BravoTV.com. (In fact, you can chat live online while watching out hairstylist Dee on Bravo’s Shear Genius. Gay TV, I’m telling you.)
Bernhard has been a lesbian icon since her days on Roseanne, when she pioneered the role of an openly lesbian television character. Since then she has maintained her status as one of the funniest and most controversial women in Hollywood. (Like Rosie and Kathy Griffin, she caused quite a ruckus on The View. In 2006, her comments on Laura Bush sent Elizabeth Hasselbeck into a babbling fury.)
Knowing what I know about Sandra Bernhard, I’m sure tonight’s episode of Project Runway will feature an orchestra of bleeped obscenities. And that, too, is exactly what I like in a reality television judge!
