South of Nowhere Video Blog: Episode 3.3

Last week we posted our first South of Nowhere video blog and were completely overwhelmed by the response! We’re happy that many of you enjoyed it, and we’re pretty sure that all of our subsequent blogs will now fail to meet your expectations.

That being said, this week Jill and I welcomed our third (and final) co-host into the mix, AfterEllen.com contributing writer Dara Nai. We also invited some dolls to be our guest stars. No, not cute girls. Actual dolls. But they behaved badly and we haven’t yet decided if they will be asked back. In our coverage of Episode 3.3 of SoN this week, we discussed:

• Why it’s good that Spencer’s flying solo
• Kyla’s disco epiphany
• Ashley’s aversion to publicity
• Our first impression of Carmen, and who we think is her celebrity twin
• The best way to handle a doll malfunction

We’re still working out the kinks with our newfangled technology, and this includes proper lighting techniques. As a result, Jill looks very pale in the video blog this week, and I look downright transparent. It’s not that we’re anemic; it’s just that we need Lighting 101. Dara fared much better and looks perfectly healthy. We decided to let her stick around anyway.

We also settled on a name for our blog, “We’re Getting Nowhere,” suggested by Lanna J. from Nebraska. Thanks, Lanna! We promise that we’ll do our best to live up to it.
