Morning Brew – Ellie Kemper talks about kissing Aubrey Plaza

Good morning!

For today’s #TBT, The Indigo Girls, as I’ll be seeing them tonight at the Greek Theater. This is 1994, aka 20 years ago!

How stunning is Bridget McManus on the cover of SHE mag this month? Answer: Very.

Ellie Kemper tells Vanity Fair that she was once very inebriated when performing on stage at the legendary Upright Citizens Brigade.

“In general, if I drink, I don’t get smarter, so it doesn’t serve anyone well. There was a U.C.B. show that, by definition, you had to have drunk too much to be in the show. That’s really the only time I think that I did that. I kissed Aubrey Plaza, but we both made that choice.”

I approve of this drunken escapade. I imagine it like her sloppy make out with Wendi McLendon-Lovey in Bridesmaids.

Speaking of, Lena Dunham shared a photo of her kissing her BFF at a wedding last weekend.

Vogue has a great slideshow of Tomboys of Summer throughout fashion history. Two of my faves: Marlene Dietrich and her daughter Maria Sieber at a polo match, 1934 and Aymeline Valade at Cannes, 2014.

It’s only gossip but I would probably be OK with this coupling: “Shailene Woodley Dating Ellen Page?”

Singer Katy B says she’s mistaken for a lesbian all the time but it’s OK with her.

“One of my best friends is gay, so I’m always going with her to lesbian nights. Everyone always comments to me [on Twitter] to me and says, ‘We knew you were gay!’ I’m not gay, but I’m like an honorary gay, I think. I don’t mind, I lap it up. I’m very passionate about LGBT rights. It’s very important to me, and I’m over the moon to be playing so many Pride events this year.”
