Morning Brew – Melissa Etheridge and Linda Wallem get married
Good morning! Hope you had a lovely weekend.
Congratulations to Melissa Etheridge and her new wife Linda Wallem. The two best friends turned lovers got married on Saturday at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California. Some notable guests: Jane Lynch, Rosie O’Donnell and Sia.
True Blood returns June 222 but there’s only a glimpse of Pam in this trailer, and no Tara!
Speaking of “no Tara,” I’m perplexed as to why she’s not among the new TB Pop! Vinyl Figures being released.
Facebook has added LGBTQ themed stickers, just in time for Pride!
Jo Walton’s novel My Real Children gets a pretty good review over at The AV Club. Might be worth a read!
Is this ad really that offensive? Apparently so, as the photo (which is from high-end jewelers Chaumet) outraged some parents in a French town called Pecq. Imagine what they would have done if the women were actually kissing.
The New York Times was super gay this weekend with an obituary for Storme DeLaverie and travel section pieces dedicated to traveling while gay, unassuming great gay-friendly spots to go and the best prides.
June is TakePride month on Pivot, and their site includes some videos with the stars of their shows like the new lesbian series The Better Half.
VH1 is also celebrating their out and proud stars, including Whitney Mixter and Sada Bettencourt from Couples Therapy and Mena and Cyn from Love & Hip-Hop.
Orange is the New Black is featured in the Times where several of the show’s stars, creator Jenji Kohan and the OG Piper, Piper Kerman, discuss the series.
Meanwhile in a prison down under, Wentworth‘s Nicole da Silva talks about Franky fans and Season 2.
Franky had the most positive, warm reception I’ve ever experienced. She was just so loved and made a big splash. I got a few marriage proposals! A woman, I think in Queensland, got a Franky-esque tattoo on her right arm. And someone else had #TeamFrankie tattooed on them. This is a recent development of how dedicated Franky fans are. It’s pretty amazing!Evan Rachel Wood is not pleased with some recent rumors.
Looks like someone is already trying to start a rumor that I “hooked up” with Michelle Rodriguez at “an evening with women”–

— I have never even said “hello” to Michelle Rodriguez. I think its convenient someone chose to make up the story now and not that night.

We believe you, girl.
Are there things lesbians can get away with that straight women can’t? (“Being gay means never having to say you’re sorry for wearing an Adidas tracksuit on a first date.”)
Entangled With You returns for a second season on June 24.
Dyke Central has released its second episode but needs more funds to make the rest.
