March Madness: Which lesbian/bi character would win The Hunger Games?

AE-MarchMadness-Banner

Welcome to the annual AfterEllen March Madness Tournament! Over the past few years, we have asked you to vote for the best lesbian/bi character on TV, the best lesbian/bi couple on TV, the sexiest lady kiss on TV — but this year we’re asking you the ultimate question: Which lesbian/bi character would win The Hunger Games? Also new this year: We’re going to ask you to prove it.

Much like the actual Hunger Games, our tournament is going to offer up prizes that will change the game for everybody. Resurrection stone? We’ve got it. Killing tools? We’ve got those too. During every round of voting, we will feature a bonus poll that will be open for 24 hours. The character who wins the bonus poll will win the prize for that round, and that character’s mentor will get to decide how to use the prize.

For example, if Lauren Lewis wins a bonus round prize of The Sword of Gryffindor, her mentor (Dorothy Snarker) will get to choose one player in the game to kill, which will knock that player right out of the tournament. Fair? Nope. Awesome? Absolutely.

Also new this year: We chose 40 characters, so the first round of voting is a play-in round. 24 character get a bye in this round, meaning they automatically advance to round two. But 16 characters will have to face off to play their way into the tournament.

Below, you will find the the full bracket. On the next page, you’ll find the full list of characters paired with their mentors. Then, you’ll find polls for the first round of voting. Most years, I encourage everyone to play fair and be cool, but it always turns into a bloodbath. So this year, we’re just going to make it a bloodbath from the word go.

Round one voting will be open until Friday, March 28th at 5:00 PM EST.
