TV Alert: “The Other Shore: The Diana Nyad Story” airs tonight on Showtime

It took Diana Nyad five tries, but at age 64, she did it—the out swimmer was able to make the 103 mile trek from Cuba to Florida without stopping. Luckily for us, cameras captured the journey, and tonight on Showtime, The Other Shore: The Diana Nyad Story will give us a glimpse of the training, the sacrifices, the failures and the ultimate success the athlete has had in her lifetime.

Directed by Timothy Wheeler, the documentary illustrates the years of unwavering determination Diana has had in order to complete what so many said was impossible. Since she finished the swim a few months ago, Diana has been on the talk show circuit and sharing her inspiring motto of “Find a way” with anyone who will listen and allow themselves to be as persistent as she is and has always been. A true hero, Diana’s story is captivating and, and her being an out gay woman is an added bonus.

Here are some great shots Showtime has released from the film and Diana’s life and career.
