Afternoon Delight: CBS rebooting “Charmed”
Good afternoon and happy Friday!!!
Happy birthday to Katy Perry, chef Jamie Lauren and Chely Wright! Charmed fans will be thrilled to learn that CBS is planning a reboot. Vulture reports that “Party of Five co-creator Chris Keyser and partner Syndey Sidner are co-writing the project, which insiders describe as a ‘re-imagining’ of the original series about a sisterhood of witches who use their powers for good.” Maybe one of them could be a lesbian this time around! Please leave your casting suggestions in the comments below.
Congratulations to newlyweds Nancylee Myatt (South of Nowhere) and Paige Bernhardt!
Love and gratitude this morning. @popcrash (the Mrs.) and I want to thank you all for your perfectness.EW posted a few exclusive images from the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. It looks like Amy Poehler hates getting scared as much as I do. Why would Ellen make her watch these videos?!
The IFC cinema in Greenwich Village, New York is allowing young audience members to attend screenings for the NC-17 rated film Blue is the Warmest Color. IFC Center senior vice president John Vanco issued a statement saying, “This is not a movie for young children, but it is our judgment that it is not inappropriate for mature, inquiring teenagers who are looking ahead to the emotional challenges and opportunities that adulthood holds.” How cool is that?!
Glee’s Jane Lynch took to Twitter to promote the below short film about homeless LGBT youth.
Trent Kendrick & Michael Fossat were so inspired by the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center that they created this short http://t.co/arhztU98RmAmerican Horror Story: Coven star Sarah Paulson dished on her new film 12 Years a Slave and playing a “very un-Sarah Paulson-esque person.”– Jane Lynch (@janemarielynch) October 22, 2013
And, in case you’re wondering, Stevie Nicks is “comfortable” with how she and her music are being referenced in AHS: Coven. I always want Stevie to be comfortable, so this info makes me happy.
Tonight, Wanda Sykes will appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Speaking of lesbian comics, on Monday, October 28 Judy Gold will be featured on FXX’s Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.
Photo of the Day!
Today’s tweet comes from birthday girl and out chef Jamie Lauren. The photo was posted this morning with the caption: “My girlfriend snuck out this morning in Mexico City to get me flowers for my birthday. I am a lucky lady.”
