Morning Brew – Sarah Paulson, Clea DuVall, Anna Paquin at Emmy after-parties

Good morning! Did you watch the Emmys last night? I’ve got some fun behind-the-scenes photos for you from backstage and the after parties. In conclusion, it looks like the HBO party was the place to be.

Speaking of Sarah Paulson, she talked with the Huffington Post about working with Ryan Murphy and what we can expect from American Horror Story: Coven.

The Huffington Post thinks Whoopi Goldberg should play Tracy Chapman and Melissa McCarthy could be Rosie O’Donnell in biopics about their respective lives. Somehow I don’t see this biopics being made in the near future, but sure.

The 1959 French noir film Two Men in Manhattan is available on Blu-Ray this week and has a lesbian character, the diplomat’s secretary.

Out magazine has a list of Tastemakers for 2013 and three gay women have made it on. They are jewelry designer Courtney Crangi (Jenna Lyons‘ partner), and couple Jess Eddy and Crista Freeman, who are ice cream makers.

Kelly McGillis is going to play Amish in Love Finds You in Sugarcreek, Ohio. The TV movie is described as a “romantic mystery/suspense drama” and will play on the UP network. Kelly plays “Bertha, one of Troyer’s three kindly Amish aunts who run a picturesque farmhouse inn.”

Amber Tamblyn talked with The New York Post about telling her comic husband, David Cross she was auditioning for Two and a Half-Men and how writing poetry makes her care less about what people think. A quote:

“It’s stuff like that that makes you able to go into a room with people like Chuck Lorre and Jon Cryer and go, ‘What you guys do is really cool. And I’m gonna kill this right now. I don’t need to, but I’m going to. Either you get me or you don’t, and I don’t care either way.'”
