Morning Brew – Rooney Mara still hasn’t seen a script for “The Girl Who Played With Fire”

Good morning!

Amber Heard was on Chelsea Lately last night where she talked about how her Paranoia co-star Richard Dreyfuss never remembers her.

Ms. Heard is also in i-D Magazine this month, where she says she’s more complex than the headlines make her out to be. Snap snap girl!

Natasha Lyonne‘s indie film G.B.F. opens in Vancouver this week and she talked with The Vancounver Sun about hoping her work in queer films helps young gays feel good about themselves:

“Certainly I respect that some actors who are gay have a challenge in coming out because of the potential prejudice they may face and the limitations they may be presented with. For any of the gay actors I know it’s a really big challenge – I think it’s still really hard for people to come out to their own families. Hopefully it’s getting easier; hopefully movies like G.B.F. make it easier; movies like But I’m a Cheerleader make it easier. … I also know that it’s a really complicated personal issue, whether they’re actors or not. What would just be amazing though is if there wasn’t ongoing prejudice.”

Sarah Paulson told Variety she thinks Vera Farmiga should win the Emmy for her work in Bates Motel this year:

“I knew that the (drama actress) category was very hotly pursued. Her performance was brave, in the sense that it wasn’t always pretty. And I don’t mean about her beauty. I just thought it was very brave what she did, and that she really went for it. You always want the person who really earned it to be the person who gets noticed, and I really felt like she did incredible work on that show.”

Rooney Mara said she hasn’t seen a script yet for The Girl Who Played With Fire. Then she said she wouldn’t tell if she had anyway. The original version of the film definitely had some more girl-on-girl sexy time, so I hope this film can get it together, stat!
