A handful of men and women have come out this year: Neil Patrick Harris. T.R. Knight. Lance Bass. Iyari Limon. And Kristanna Loken, who in January publicly acknowledged for the first time her past relationships with women, saying, "I have dated and have had sex with men and women and have to say that the relationships I have had with certain women have been much more fulfilling, sexually and emotionally, than those with certain men."
Now Loken, who came to fame with her role in Terminator 3 (2003) and is guest-starring on The L Word's upcoming fourth season as a possible love interest of Shane's (Kate Moennig), is talking publicly about her current relationship–with actress Michelle Rodriguez.
In a new interview with The Advocate for their November 21st issue, Loken confirmed she's in a relationship, and then "found an adorable way of letting us know that she's involved with her equally sexy Bloodrayne co-star Michelle Rodriguez".
The Advocate published the following excerpt from the upcoming interview:
While her comments are just vague enough that they could be interpreted to mean something other than that she's dating Rodriguez, it would be a stretch. And even if Loken's comments are coy, The Advocate's are not.
Without some sort of firm confirmation, the news magazine would not use the headline "Kristanna and Michelle in Love", refer to them as the "hot new couple", or make the statement that Kristanna "found an adorable way of letting us know that she's involved with her equally sexy Bloodrayne co-star Michelle Rodriguez".
Our sources also confirm that Rodriguez and Loken have been dating for awhile.
Last December, Loken told FHM magazine that while she and Michelle were in Romania filming BloodRayne, "We’d hang out, drink a lot of crappy vodka and hit the clubs. One of them had a pool inside it. We would go, get really drunk and end up swimming in it by the end of the night." When asked by FHM if she made out with Rodriguez, Loken would only answer, "I plead the fifth on that."
Speculation about Rodriguez' sexual orientation has abounded since her breakout role in the 2000 film Girlfight, and persisted throughout her career in projects like The Fast and the Furious, Blue Crush, and most recently, Lost. In July, the actress told the UK Cosmo that she wasn't gay, but had experimented with both sexes.
So far, Rodriguez has declined to comment on Loken's new revelation. But given the power of the Internet to snowball news like this, she may not be able to stay quiet for long.
