Anne will interrupt Monica and Chandler’s reunion on “Go On”

When the first photo of Courteney Cox‘s guest appearance on Go On hit the internet a couple of weeks ago, I practically melted into a puddle of swoony goop. Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox reunited! Monica and Chandler together again! Then NBC released actual details and I fainted dead away. The episode, which will air on March 26th, is called “Matchup Problems” and this is the official synopsis:

Ryan’s “wing man” turns into competitor for the affection of a beautiful widow – Courteney Cox guest stars – Anne (Julie White) offers to set up Ryan (Matthey Perry) with a new acquaintance, Talia (Courteney Cox), a recent widow struggling to find her emotional direction. When the three go out together, Talia ends up heavily flirting with them both.
Prove it with pictures, NBC. There’s always a tiny part of me that’s going to be skeptical about gay-teasing Friends reunions because of that ridiculous “lesbian” “storyline” Cox and Jennifer Aniston did on Dirt a couple of years ago, but I’m inclined to stuff down my cynicism on this one because Go On has done a brilliant job with Anne so far. The loss of her wife has been treated with the same gravitas as the loss of Ryan King’s wife. In fact, her story has paralleled Ryan’s in many ways, as both of them have struggled to redefine themselves as single, to open themselves up to dating, and to rebuild their lives without the women they thought they’d be with forever. Go On doesn’t skirt around Anne’s lesbianism, but it also doesn’t use her sexuality as her only defining attribute. She’s smart, she’s funny, she’s a little misanthropic, and, as she tells Ryan early on in the season, she’s just as cool as he is.

And as if that wasn’t revolutionary enough on a network comedy, now we get news that Anne is going be a romantic player in one the most highly anticipated sitcom actor reunions ever.

Monica, Chandler, and Anne. Could that love triangle be any more awesome?
