Soooo tempted

I've been watching your vlogs for ages and always enjoy your take on various games...the only problem is that I own a ps3 and you guys make me want an xbox.

I'm going nuts as I want to play fable, and even gave serious thought to selling the ps3, but not too happy with the idea of not being able to replay metal gear.

Do you think owning both is overkill? I know you have the lot but you can use 'work' as an excuse as your providing a service to the gay gaming world!

Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the shoutout ladies...

i'm still standing by my PES confession.. but guess what.. my version is PES5 (!) (I'm playing on a modded XBOX, the old one!)... so maybe I should upgrade and test out FIFA 09 and then compare it to PES 9 ;D

NOW ARE THERE ANY SUGAR MAMAS AROUND WHO WOULD WANT TO MARRY ME AND GIMME MONEY??? :D

Again: keep up the great work ladies! I'm always looking forward to the next installment... two point whatever it may be ;)

Oh, and thanks for the picture comment.. you can see some more in my profile (and a vid too, lol!) ;D

GH:WT Drumkit

First of all: I love your vlog as always ^^ (I'm just not really the commenting type)

But I have to say something about the midi cable you have to use to tune your drumkit from GH:WT, as far as I know it's free if you have the serial key from the drumkit.
Anyway, I'll get the game (super bundle) friday, can't wait, I hope everything will work fine.

Can't wait for your next vlog

I'm a bit of a newbie I

I'm a bit of a newbie I have watched this vlog before but this is my first time commenting.

I bought littlebigplanet and I love it.I beat the story mode but I haven't aced all the levels or found all the prize bubbles yet. Did you notice that the music in the littlebigplanet trailer was also used in sugar rush?I think the song is called my patch.

I rented fallout 3 but I wasn't able to get into it.I think that was because of some bugs I encoutered.Sometimes VATS would give me a high probability to hit something that was actually obsured by an object.I would miss the shot completely because I hit something in front of me and waste ap.Another thing that bugged me was if you died after discovering a location if you hadn't saved you'd have to walk all the way back!

Did you have problems syncing up guitar hero world tour with your tv?I heard some people had problems because there were designated settings for each type of tv like on rockband.

Good Vblog, boy you both seem tired, hard work playing games

Im loving the Fallout.

But I have to agree 3erd person and the maps are crap, Tracy zoomed in on the 2 worst features. I rarely use the map and play in 1st person so it doesn't bother me as much. I played 1st person in Oblivion but when I got really invinceable I loved watching myself run around in 3erd person for chunks of time---won't be doing that in this game!

This is a fun game to play for me and I enjoy the world....its not the only game world I'd ever want to visit....but its a good game. I kinda think of games as different planets you'd visit if you were on the Star Trek Voyger and its not like you'd want to explore the same general type of planet each time...no no no...you'd want wildly different types of planets, maybe you'd like some better than others, but all would be worth exploring and learning about how they worked. To be true to itself it has to be bleak (though I would think after awhile people would try to add a little color to thier life...its just human nature).

I'm just in the first town...Megaton...and am playing a fairly good person so my house is there. I will play evil next time. I'm suppose to be going to the minefield to help write the survival book but I'm having a hard time getting there. I suddenly see something I NEED to investigate and end up over loaded and have to go home. I believe I've set off 10 times now BUT I get closer each time so soon soon I will arrive and see if I can survive without being blown to smitherins.

Angela I do hope you give one more section to Fallout after you've played more, I'm interested in what you have to say. I know its different trying to review a game and give all the gameplay parts points than to just playing it.

Its my first modern game with guns so I'm having a bit of trouble with the gore (I play alot of older games...so the graphics make the gore not very gory) but I just won't pick the perk bloody mess. I'd better toughen up anyway because I've been inching towards playing first person shooters....I'd like to try Far Cry.

Hi Ladies

Nice Vlog.  I was over at Lesbiangamers and was looking around and was trying to find something.  Do you have a LIST of games you have played and your recomendation on it ?  Something like ....

Halo 1 - Buy It

GH World Tour - Rent It

etc...

I was just wondering, because it would be a quick way to see what you think.  I want to get more games, but really don't have alot of time to locate and read reviews.  But I love the Vlog, so I always take time out for it. Maybe if you aren't TOO BUSY ... you could create a list and post it.

One more thing.  I have an Xbox 360, but only have a Silver membership.  What is stopping me from going Gold, is that I don't think anyone would want me on thier team to play multiplayer.  I always play easy mode and am still pretty bad even then.  I get better once I have played a few levels, but can't hit the side of a barn in the beginning.  I am clumsy on the controls trying to figure out what button does what.  Other then playing multiplayer, are there any other advantages to having a GOLD membership ??

I'm a bit rubbish at fps

I'm a bit rubbish at fps games too cuz I played them for years on my pc and I'm used to playing with a mouse and keyboard.  It's harder on consoles!  I went for Gold just because sometimes there are demos and stuff that you can only download if you have Gold membership. I'm pretty good at rockband though so I play that online sometimes.

If you get Gold, my gamertag is HebeHan if you want to someone to be rubbish with :)

Thanks for reply.

Thanks for the reply.  I don't know if I will go gold.... atleast not till after X-mas.  However, if the new launch of Xbox Live offers anything new that I can't live without, I will surely upgrade.  I would like to see your avatar.

Gold Membership

I ended up getting the Gold membership because it's hard to find friends to come over and play all the time.  I suck at most games too, so if you ever want to have a suckfest, my gamertag is ButchDany.  Right now I just have Fable2, but I plan on getting Left 4 Dead (I played the demo and it was pretty awesome) and Rock Band 2 in the next few weeks.

A Lesbian Suckfest .... that could be interesting !!  I just bought Fable 2 also.  Haven't started it yet.  Trying to get through Bad Company Demo without dying a thousand times first.  I would like your thoughts on Fable 2.  I want Left 4 Dead as well.

I'm not sure I will go Gold ... atleast not till after X-mas.  But I would like to see your Avatar.

Hello ladies!

I do believe I am the only person left who has never played guitar hero or rock band. *gasp* I must do that one day.

I can never play in the first person either. I hate it.

I don't have a question nor do I have anything clever (not even about my name since it's my name).

Still though good vlog =)

Still not sure about the 360...

As always I love your vlogs (although I rarely comment).

I just played fallout 3 for the ps3, I really liked it, but the maps are indeed a big flaw... also the ps3 version seems to be slightly choppier than the 360 one, which is probably because the Xbox360 was the lead developing platform (and because of the AA), I think developers just can't get used to the ps3 architecture. It's too bad, I've always been a "Sony-girl" :( and I can't seem to save up enough money to get a 360, Fable II is tipping the scale though...

Also, how about reviewing more RPGs? like Valkyria Chronicles or Tales of Vesperia?

Thunderpants!'s picture

I actually picked up

I actually picked up Fallout 3 and Wrath of the Lich King and Freakazoid (it's not a game, it's just pure win) all on one day. I still haven't played either, and I'm thinking of returning Wrath and quitting WoW.

I did just finish the storyline in Fable and somehow wound up being good again! Evil is hard :( but oh so worth it.  It's easier to move around in the game when the townspeople run from you.  I found that when I was good, it was hard to get in/out of stores, since there'd be a child or some old geezer in a tophat blocking the way...and they WON'T MOVE!  I probably should have just started killing, then I'd be evil again and have horns.  Horns > Halos

I always feel a little down after I finish a game I really enjoyed.  I mean, you can go back and play it again, maybe play it a little differently, but some of the joy of finding out what happens next is gone.

I would never suggest going to imdb to find out about my username good movies to watch with friends while drunk.

ladies, you seem to be attracting so many newbies lately and pulling non-commenters out of the proverbial closet ...and I can tell you why - cause this blog is HOT!!

thanks for the heads up on Guitar Hero World Tour - I guess if I want to play a fake guitar i'll just grab a Kleenex box, a wrapping paper roll and some rubber bands and make my own instrument.

I am so glad that I picked the name Mrs Butterworth - because the joy of hearing you say it every week makes my heart fill with joy.  Can you imagine if I had picked a name like Judy or Bob? That would not have been amusing at all.

See you guys next week!

Thanks ladys

I like the look of little blue planet, but I don't see me getting a ps3 anytime soon, while I'm saving for an xbox 360, so i can play fable2.

I played the song from the end of portal (still alive) on rockband at a friends house during our halloween party. So fun. so rockband wins over guitar hero in my books.

You may have already answered this, but I'de like to know if there is any good adventure/roleplay type games for the WII?

PS Thanks for the idea. I'll totally be asking everyone to help me get an xbox360 for christmas. (and I love the way you said my name. People always say it like 'adrianna' when they look at it it how its spelled...which makes no sence to me and never will.)

Silly Me

Silly Me.  I was just over at LesbianGamers and I found your list of game reviews.  Surprisingly it was under REVIEWS.  How did I miss it.  I know it was not like the simple list I wanted, but it is diffently there and very complete.

Just on a side note ... I went out tonight and bought Fable 2. I jumped on the bandwagon.  I never played Fable so this will be all new to me.

Music game freak right here!!

I was always a fan of the guitar hero series (I'm not proud of their song choices though. if you own a ps3 rock band have better dlc) I have the previous versions on my ps2 (old school i know) and i pre-odered the world tour on my wii. Since the day i got it which was about 2 weeks ago, the drumset survived some serious bashing and still working strong til now. I guess i was the lucky few to get a good set out of the box. One comment about the rubber pads, now it has some sorta rubber bits due to the hits so there might be a need to get layer pads of some sort. In my opinion world tour wins for their instruments and game play and song choices, rock band. I love them both.

now i get why people get excited about little big planet. interesting. heh. Too bad wii cant play those stuff. Wii is good for parties though.

  I'm disapointed, but

I'm disapointed, but not surprised to hear that Fallout 3 has some faults. It's somewhat of a tradition that the Fallout games have a few bugs.

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, and all the promo stuff I've seen has a male character, so I wanted to make sure that you can still play as a woman?

I quite enjoyed seeing the different ways you could interact with people as the different genders in the earlier games. I especially enjoyed, playing as a woman, sleeping with a local village woman and then being forced at the end of her father's shotgun to marry her. Funniest scene in the whole game. I really hope F3 still has the humour of the other two. And now that I've ordered my super-duper new laptop I should soon be able to play it (even though it actually looks like it'd better to play on a console)!

deaddisco's picture

Ugh!!! Over-encumbered!!!

I haven't played Fallout 3 yet (not until christmas break can I start an RPG that massive) but I played Oblivion earlier this year and HATED the over-encumbered thing!!!! Fine, I get the realism in not being able to carry five full skeletons and two complete dining sets as well as cabbage heads, big shiny gem things and many pieces of armor but give a girl a hint as to what is going to be useful later in the game (I like to play without guidebooks)!!!!!! In any case, some of us are broke students who'd like to know if fun can be had in little big world in a week (rent it?). Also, wasn't there supposed to be a FF game coming out soon for those of us duped into buying these PS3 consoles?
ShadowTiger's picture

Time... come back

I barely have time to play games now! I guess i'll have even less time after college, huh?

@somethingwittya Yes you can play as a female character, but there aren't too many points in the game where you can do gender specific stuff, and I don't think you can fool around either. Just like oblivion, the game focuses alot on combat and exploration, and while there are interesting npc's and dialogues, its probably very limited compared to the original games.

I definetly agree that the weight system in F3 is frustrating. At least in oblivion you could use spells/items for temporary boosts and you could still fast-travel using the map when overloaded. In the PC version though you can always cheat and give yourself extra strength :)

Also... the PC version is super buggy, though updating drivers helped. Probably the buggiest game I ever played...

Question: Do you ever play a game with another person's character? For example, when my friend got Halo 3, while he was busy I played with his friends on X-Box live and finished portions of the campaign with them. Later, he had to go back and re-played the stuff he missed. I know that I usually want to do everything myself (control freak?), so I wonder how other people feel about it. Would you play someone else's fable character or would you want to make your own?

somethingwittyandcharming's picture

  Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info. If it's that buggy I think I'll just wait till I can afford a 360, which is rather frustrating.

And I'm disapointed to hear there's less freedom to fool around, I loved finding all the little things you could do on the side that had nothing to do with the main tasks, like betting on fights between giant molerats, being in a porno and digging up every grave in a cemetry. Good times! Combat was probably the bit I found least interesting, so that sucks...

Hmmmm

I think it might be a long comment this week so ill say sorry now.

Right first of all i didnt get Wii Music i looked at the back of the box and it looked crap and then i realised that your prob gonna be doing the exact same movement for all the instruments.

LittleBigPlanet well i finished the story mode and i played online which i thought was pretty good, but i must admit i think its pretty boring now, im an annoying person (i like to collected everything in games) but with this one i just couldnt really be bothered to do it all.

At the mo im switching between Dead Space and Mirrors Edge both im loving and there chapters are sooooo long, me and my mate are having this trophy war where were trying to get more trophies than each other so any game with a trohpy system is all good.

I played Fallout 3 for a little while but i just couldnt get into it, like Tracy i thought it was gonna be wicked with the intro etc but as soon as i got outside i just didnt like it, i guess i might just need to give it more time but i dont really think that will work.

Right onto Guitar Hero, well it seems im not alone in the Drum drama, unlike yours i had a problem with my red pad everytime you hit it it would come up that the red and yellow had been hit, this was sooooooo annoying, i took the drum pad back and exchanged it and it seems fine now but to be honest i put it on to make sure the drum kit was better and then turned it off, its so offputting that we spend so much money and it doesnt work, plus the music isnt all that great im a huge GH and Rockband fan but i was pretty disapointed.

Right well this week is all about Tomb Raider and Need for Speed woohoo

I'm a sort of half

I'm a sort of half newbie.  I've posted comments on odd occassions before but mostly I just lurk.  I'm doing this thing where I try to post more though.

Sad to hear about the GH drums issues :(  I actually play the drums so I've been looking forward to having more drum-like drums.  It's perhaps a blessing in disguise though as my mother has banned me in no uncertain terms from bringing any more "little plastic instruments" into the house, and now if I keep telling myself that its not as good as it seems I won't be too sad.  (yes, I still live at home. I'm a student and I have no money!)

I really want Fallout 3 and Dead Space but I can't afford them at the moment.  I've been forced to go back to all my old games that I haven't finished, or replay ones that I have, lol.  I did download the Mirror's Edge demo this week and it seems awesome, will you guys be doing a review in the future?

And last but not least:  I just got the xbox dash update and my god, the avatars scare the bejeezus out of me.  Mostly because I wasn't paying all that much attention and then a herd of them suddenly ran onto my screen.  I think I like the new look of everything, though I usually reject the unfamiliar.  I quite like the idea of installing games to the HDD as well (testing it out with Mass Effect now!), finally the dvd drive will be quiet!

Guitar Hero Cymbal Fix

Heya Dudettes,

Yup, I had the same cymbal issue but fixed it using the tape method:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhF5noVUBN8

It is really simple, doesn't void your warranty, can be reversed if you like, and for me fixed the issue 100%.

I know this is not ideal and that you should totally expect everything to work out of the box however I would rather do a simple fix like this than return the whole kit and find I still have the same problem (or possibly some other issue).

Breaking my silent treatment of GGWG...

Just because Fallout 3 rocks!

Okay, I really wasn't giving the vlog the silent treatment, I've just been busy and stuff.  You know, playing Fallout 3!  Leaving fecal matter on people's food (see definition of a Harpy).  You know, important stuff.

The map isn't horrible.  Sheesh.  I mean, it has to go with the Pipboy so I think it fits well with the technology available at the period in time where the game takes place.

I switch between 1st and 3rd person often.  I can't really say which one I use more.  The encumberance isn't so bad.  A lot of the stuff you pick up isn't worth carrying to sell.  I do become encumbered often and end up dropping something, but it's usually not really worth keeping it.

One thing that kills me that I didn't notice -- The shopkeepers have a limited amount of money.  So I was just selling, selling, selling and then like WTF - that's it?!

So, I guess the one complaint I have is how expensive it is to repair.  Weapons and gear are easy to come by for the most part, but my missle launcher is broken now and I just can't justify paying 500 caps to repair it.  So, hopefully I will find another.  I did pay to repair my sniper rifle though.  I mean, really, how fun is it sniping and sneaking up on enemies?  LOVE IT!

So, since I live outside of Washington DC (and Fallout 3 takes place there for any who didn't know), I thought I would include these pictures I snapped at the DC Metro a month or so ago.  This was at Metro Center -- All of the Metro hubs were plastered with Fallout 3 ads everywhere (as you can see).  Crappy quality on my cell phone though.

Hey, guys :) Been a while

Hey, guys :)

Been a while since I've commented, but just thought I'd pop up for this one.

Having heard the buzz about Fallout 3 I was thinking I'd invest in it, but I'm so glad I caught this review. Mainly because for me if a game doesn't have a good 3rd person aspect...I can't play, or I just plain hate it when I try. For instance, I can't play Halo even though it's kinda fun - it just becomes too frustrating as I feel like I can't see what's happening around me. I feel restricted and claustrophobic.

I'm also not that into the type of RPG that requires you to sit for three days reading the manual and constantly going to a wiki/guide site to figure out what potion does what, or which enchancement (apparently I just made up a new word. Maybe it's a mash up of enchantment and enhancement) is the best, or which choice is the right choice if you don't want to waste your time playing. I'd much rather just have fun playing than worrying about all that and having the feeling I should keep referring to guides. Morrowind - for both the reasons mentioned - was unplayable for me after I listened to the hype and bought it, and it feels like I'd have the same experience with Fallout, so thanks for helping me save my cash :)

I have to say (with regards the last vlog) I seriously wish I had a 360 to play Fable 2. That game just looks full of win. Not too complex to just pick up and play, and fun - my kinda game. I'm hoping it comes out on the PC as soon as possible because I just can't afford a new console. If you hear any rumors about that, please be sure to let us know :p

Also, quick squee-fest for the game Mass Effect. I know I'm late with this but I was waiting for the price to drop on this game before buying it, but now I have it...it's become probably THE best game I've ever played. I'm hooked. It has a great feel and look, and isn't too complex. There's just enough going on, and the story is fun to follow. I have a feeling I'll be wasting many nights sat here blasting away aliens on it.

Anyhow, thanks for the reviews. Keep rocking (though obviously not with a dodgy cymbal ^^)

Ta for the response...

...I think I'll wait a bit on the Rock Band or Guitar Hero to improve their instruments.  If Rock Band came with cymbals, it be perfect!

With X'mas fast approaching, I am in the dilemma of deciding what Nintendo DS games to get for kids under 12. Would you please be so kind as to recommend some good games for which are fun and educational?

Thanks, you guys still rock da hause!

Awesome Vlog

Excellent Vlog, once again ladies. I thouroughly enjoyed it.  I am also psyched for all the people jumping on the xbox wagon- your powers of persuasion are excellent... ;)

Angela- I am all about Left 4 Dead, I just rented it and plan on playing it- let me know when you guys are on live so we can kick some zombie ass together.

Tracy- I promise, no dogs have been neglected since that unfortunate night. Although I swear my dog now rolls his eyes when he sees me power up the 360.

I was trying to decide between GHWT or Rockband 2. I played GHWT this past weekend, and we had the same cymbal problem (the orange one, i think)- I also wasn't impressed with the song choices (with the exception of Beat It.. that was a lot of fun to play and sing).  I looked up the song list for Rock Band 2, and that pretty much made up my mind for me- RockBand 2, here I come!
