There are three things you probably don’t know about
Tila Tequila Miss Tila.
Well, first let’s establish that Tila Tequila is no longer Tila Tequila. Like another entertainer with limited flow, Sean Combs, Tila Nguyen has decided to change her stage name, dropping the Tequila and adding the honorific “Miss.” That’s right — you may now address the former reality star and MySpace queen as Miss Tila.
Fortunately for Diddy, he is able to fall back on his producing and business skills. But Tila? There has always been a bit of skepticism as to whether the artist formerly known as Tila Tequila can spread her wings and soar out of MySpace/Twitter/B-level reality show landfill.
A new interview with Out Magazine proves that all “u haters” must “recognize” that Miss Tila is not to be underestimated.
Tila Fact #1: Tila inspired all lesbian and bi women to come out.
First, Tila Tequila was the first ever public figure to come out. Before Tila, everyone was closeted, and due to her pioneering reality show A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila, Katy Perry was inspired to write “I Kissed A Girl.” Ellen DeGeneres was also heavily influenced by Tila’s show and came out shortly thereafter.
Out: Do you consider yourself a role model for the queer community?
Tila: That’s a very controversial subject — for me to say that I’m a role model for the gay and lesbian community. I don’t care what anyone says, they always talk sh-t about me. Whatever. You know what? I was the first one to put out a TV show about bisexuality and a lot of people came out to me at the time and said, “Your show really helped me come out.” And then, right after season 2, Katy Perry made “I Kissed a Girl” and then everybody was kissing girls and then Ellen came out and everybody started coming out, slowly. It became a topic of conversation. So I definitely think that it allowed people to talk about it and pay attention to it and not turn a blind eye to what’s out there. So, you don’t have to like me but I did it first.
Let’s also not forget that she was responsible for the initial lifting of California’s same sex marriage ban.
Why don’t we all pause for a moment of silence to pay tribute to all the advances in gay rights and media visibility to which Tila has contributed?
Moment of silence.
All right, moving on.
Tila Fact #2: Tila is going to be a media mogul.
Out: You’re getting ready to launch your own gossip site, TilaTequilaOMG.com. What’s the story with that?
Tila: TilaTequilaOMG.com is going to be the best celebrity gossip website in the universe — infinity and beyond. It is going to take — what I call him — “Piggy” Perez [Hilton] down and out of business. A lot of think it’s just me sitting there like, “Hmm, maybe I’m going to talk crap about this and that person today.”
But it’s actually real celebrity news as it comes in. We have exclusive material. I have partnered up with some exclusive people and we have paparazzi for us exclusively and it’s pretty much real news about celebrities that is coming from my point of view. I’ll deliver you the news but from what I think and then it’s very reader-friendly and I do celebrity interviews as well and there’s something called “Tequila Shots” which is — I’ve been in Hollywood for about 10 years now so I do know a lot about dirty celebrity secrets. And for my friends, I’m not going to put them on blast, but there’s quite a few people who’ve treated me wrong and I’m definitely going to put them all on blast. So, they’d better be sorry.
Tila also added,”Just don’t mess with me, man. Don’t mess with me and you won’t have any problems.” Uh oh. You better play nicey nice, Hollywood folks, because if you cross Tila, SHE WILL BLOG ABOUT YOU IN ALL CAPS with her EXCLUSIVE material from EXCLUSIVE people, you know, EXCLUSIVELY. BAM! Are you scurred yet?
Tila Fact #3: Tila’s music is unique; there is nothing else out there like it.
Out: It seems like everyone is coming out with a single these days. What differentiates you from everyone else out there?
Tila: What’s different about my music is that it’s very unique — when you hear it you can tell, right away, “Oh, that’s Tila’s voice,” because I have a very distinct voice, a very distinct style, very distinct lyrics. It’s very colorful. My music is very colorful! And very fun — it’s not too serious.
The single in question is “I F—-d The DJ,” (or the radio version, “I Love the DJ”) and it was released last Tuesday. The first few lines are as follows:
I f—-d the DJ / His dick was real big / Spun me right round like a record and he killed it / I took it in like a champ / I’m a real chick / You know who the f–k I am / That’s the real s–t!”
I smell a Grammy. Taylor Swift, you better watch your back. You better get with the program. Stop singing about daisies and start singing about daisy chains or Tila is going to steal your crown.
The verdict is in: Miss Tila is like Oprah, Jesus, Madonna and the other Madonna all rolled into one. What’s next on the agenda for Tila? World peace?
