Three of the best episodes from “The Sex Talk”

The Sex Talk Series is a web show featuring a sex therapist, Moushumi Ghose, and a lesbian-identified actress, Jenoa Harlow. Each episode focuses on a different topic pertaining to sex, love, relationships and dating. Viewer’s questions are expertly answered with a bit of humor and insightful views. There are definitely a bunch of great episodes worthy of checking out.

When I came across the show’s Tumblr page, I proceeded to binge watch all the episodes OITNB style. It was hard to choose which episodes with these lovely ladies are worthy of highlighting, but I took on the task. Below are a few of my faves.

Warning: Videos NSFW

We learn in this episode that everyone has a secret kink, so we should never judge our partner. It takes a lot of courage to let your lover know that it turns you on to, let’s say, watch her sit on and pop latex balloons—from what I have heard (not from personal experience). Just a random thought that popped into my head. No pun intended.

This one features advice all lesbians should heed. When starting a new relationship, take it slow. Such a novel approach to dating. There is actually no need to move in together immediately and then realize you have nothing in common a few months later. This is the one time we should look to straight men and share a healthy fear of commitment, at least for the first few months. After that, you should both feel free to sign the lease of that cute apartment you’ve been eyeing with the spare room. You could totally turn that into a yoga space, just like Maura Isles.

The first thing I learned from this episode was the term “sport fucking” aka casual sex. After my visit to Urban Dictionary, I was ready to let the advice wash over me. As you would guess by its title, The “Two-F**k” Rule is simply only sleeping with someone two times unless you plan on dating them. Apparently when we have sex our body releases a bonding hormone called oxytocin. Our brains may be hoping our date for the night leaves after the deed is done, but our hormones can betray us. So if you become clingy after sex to the point where your nickname should be “Saran Wrap,” then this one is made for you.
