This Week in Lesbianish TV: Jan. 16 – 21

We run a lot of recaps on AfterEllen.com, but we aren’t able to run them on every single show with a lesbian or bisexual female character. It’s a great problem to have, really — too many shows on television with gay women. So we decided to do a weekly column giving you the basics on the lesbianish storylines and highlights from out lesbians who have regular shows on the tube. If we miss anything, we’d love for you to send us a tip.

A couple notes: We’re only going to do new episodes so that means no re-runs. We’re only recapping the lesbianish storylines and characters. If there is absolutely nothing lesbianish that week on a certain show, we won’t be recapping it. And when it comes to out lesbians with their own shows (like Ellen, Rachel, Suze and Sara Gilbert), we’ll just highlight some of their fun moments from the week. We’re including full episode links when we can. Otherwise, you’re just going to have to subscribe to Playboy TV or set your DVR to record the rest.

And, just in case it doesn’t go without saying, spoilers ahead.

Being Human (Mondays, SyFY): On the premiere episode, werewolf Josh runs into his sister, Emily, while at his day job as a nurse. She’s at the hospital because her partner broke her arm. When Emily spots Josh, they’re both shocked, because they haven’t seen each other since she came out to him, which we only know from back story given to us from producers. But things ended hairily when Emily refused to leave Josh alone and demanded to know why he stopped talking to his family. Unfortunately, she chose to confront him right when he began to go through “the change.”
