The Good Wife has been making so many awesome casting announcements the past few days that we just have to share.
Trish told you this week that Kalinda’s very evil ex-husband will be played by British actor Marc Warren, but we’re hoping he doesn’t stick around so Kalicia can get about the business of, well, being Kalicia.
The wonderful actress formerly known as Abby Lockhart on ER, Maura Tierney, joins TGW in a recurring role as Maddie, a billionaire internet mogul who wields influence by backing certain Democratic candidates. Eli, being Eli, wants her to back Peter for governor.

Tierney and Juliana Margulies worked together on ER, of course, and seeing them on screen together again will be a treat. And Tierney, who battled breast cancer a few years ago, looks marvelously healthy. You know, I might have to change ships if Maddie and Kalinda took a romantic liking to each other. Hey, it could happen.
Also on board, fresh from playing the bitchiest of the Good Christian Bitches, is Kristin Chenoweth. According to CBS, Cheno’s character is a “top-of-her-game political reporter” who’s trying to uncover the real story about Peter and Alicia’s marriage.

Chenoweth appears in the first episode of the season, so I expect her storyline to kick in right away. I can’t wait.
The lovely and talented Nathan Lane also appears in the Season 4 premiere as an accountant hired to get Lockhart & Gardner back on its financial feet. Since the firm lost its biggest client in the Season 3 finale, Lane’s character wants to severely cut costs — and will butt heads with Diane and Will as he tries.

Casting Broadway talent like Chenoweth and Lane — alongside Tony winner Christine Baranski — makes me wonder how TGW writers will work in a musical number or two. Can we expect some Ally McBeal-like after work karaoke?
We’ll keep you posted of further developments. What do you think of these additions to The Good Wife?
