Sarah Warn writes, "Fans of the American’s favorite (and only) out lesbian political talk show host laughed out loud when Rachel Maddow refuted "ex-gay" Cohen’s attempts to distance himself from his inaccurate and harmful statements about homosexuality by exclaiming, ‘I read it from your book, dude!’

But most of the interview (on The Rachel Maddow Show) was deadly serious (no pun intended), as Maddow took Cohen and other anti-gay activists to task for their role in contributing to a climate of fear and mis-information that leads to the kind of persecution LGBT people face around the world."

Although Silvia’s death was the result of the actress’s desire to leave the show, the sad event nonetheless took fans of the couple and the series by surprise, and left many angry.
