The AfterEllen.com Huddle: Titles for Our Memoirs

Last week I was in Chicago eating tacos, as you do, and noticed my Lady Danger MAC lipstick had transferred onto my tortillas. That kind of thing happens to me all the time, so I immediately thought, “The name of my future memoir: Lipstick on My Tacos: The Trish Bendix Story.” That, in turn, inspired this week’s Huddle topic: What would your future memoir be called if you had to name it right now?

Ali Davis: Dorkfest

Chloe: Slouching Towards Los Angeles (courtesy of Karman), Cute But Vicious (courtesy of my mother), Anything For Me But Mindless Good Taste (inspired by my life partner, John Cleese)

Dara Nai: How to Kind of Succeed Without Really Trying

Anna Pulley: 50 Shades of Gay

Bridget McManus: Places I’ve Cried

Kim Hoffmann: Titles are my weak spot, I literally have no clue what I’d call it because the name would change a hundred times over, but as for content and quality, obviously, my memoir would be written with Touch Me: The Poetry of Suzanne Somers in mind.

Valerie Anne: Buffy and Beyond: The Vicarious Adventures of a Lifelong TV Addict

Erika Star:  Oops I Did It Again: How Not to Learn A Life Lesson.

Eboni Rafus: When All Else Fails: Learning about Life and Love One Horribly Idiotic Mistake at a Time. And if you order now, you’ll also receive the handy how-to companion: No Offense, But…: 10 Things Not to Say or Do when Dating a Black Woman. (Spoiler alert: Don’t obsessively touch/pet her natural hair because it’s “just so different!”)

Karman Kregloe: I don’t think I could ever top Inklets I Have Scrawled, the title of my journal when I was 10.  I’m sticking with it.

Jenna Lykes: Not sure about my memoir, but my cat’s would definitely be: Love, Loss, and Finding My Voice: The Life of Elinor “Ellie” “Dr. Pajamacat” Dashwood Duggan-Lykes. (I may or may not have thought about this a lot.)

Dana Piccoli: I Paid a Lot to Lose This Accent: Adventures of a Midwestern Girl, One Dream at a Time

Heather Hogan: Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey: The Life of a Muggle Without a TARDIS

Grace Chu: Lean Out: Women, Going Berserk and the Will to Leave the Scene Forever

What would your title be?
