People.com reports that Mary Cheney and her partner of 15 years, Heather Poe, are expecting a baby. And yes, Mary’s carrying it. In this photo, Mary is probably pointing to the baby’s future, in which gay people can get married, health care is free, and the world is at peace.
Or maybe not. I do know that when Mary and I were in college (at the very liberal Colorado College), this would have been a major faux pas on her part. And the maternity clothes wouldn’t have gone with the hockey stick she always had perched on her shoulder.
But this is really very big news: it’s a Republican expectation that’s supported by science!
