"Hex" is back on BBCA

I can't believe I forgot to blog about this on Friday: The second season of Hex premiered on BBC America over the weekend. Its regular time slot is Saturdays at 9:00 p.m. ET (with a mini-marathon this coming Saturday to catch you up on what you may have missed).

Hex is about a group of friends at a British boarding school who try to unravel an ancient curse and stave off Armageddon. Or something like that. The battle-of-good-and-evil stuff always seemed sort of secondary to me — I was much more interested in the adventures of cute lesbian ghost Thelma (Jemima Rooper).

The show is like a mashup of a Nine Inch Nails video and a teen sex comedy. It's uneven, but it has its moments. (OK, fine, I recapped the second season, so I'm probably just trying to convince myself that that wasn't a total waste of time.) … continue reading
