Brunch With Bridget: Episode 19 "Chaps and Spurs"

Yeehaw! That's all we can say about Bridget's blog this week with our favorite Cherokee cowgirl, writer and producer Nancylee Myatt (3Way, South of Nowhere, Nikki & Nora)

Bridget gets in bed with the woman who oversaw the birth of Spashley (although she doesn't really talk about that in the vlog); who created the greatest show (Nikki & Nora) about a couple of "ladycops" that you never saw on network television; and who had the huevos to put Maile Flanagan, Jill Bennett, Maeve Quinlan and Cathy Shim in a lesbian comedy together.

In addition to talking about Nancylee's career in television, Bridget and Nancylee also play with horses and buffalos (plastic) and talk about why spurs in bed are actually a bad idea (at least when they're worn by Bridget), while Baby Bridget officiates A Very Special Lesbian Doll Wedding. It's weird.

Brunch With Bridget: Episode 18 "Brunch with BAM"

Yes, it's true. We've been teasing this episode of Brunch with Bridget just like a soap opera. Week upon week of build-up, leaving you wondering "Will it pay off?"

The answer is: Yes. Wait no longer. BAM themselves, Eden Riegel (Bianca) and Elizabeth Hendrickson (Maggie) from All My Children fame are Bridget's bedmates this week. The girls answer your questions about their ground-breaking roles on AMC, explain the necessity (or lack thereof) of Zarf to Bridget, and get frisky with a sock monkey.

Most importantly, they allow Bridget to fulfill her directorial fantasies (and probably a few fantasies of your own) by acting out a "lost" AMC scene (i.e. one that Bridget wrote) that brings Bianca and Maggie close once again.

Really close.

The girls also talk about their post-AMC careers, including their latest project, Imaginary Bitches. You can watch Imaginary Bitches here.

You also have a chance to win the sock monkey seen in this episode and autographed by Eden and Elizabeth. Go here for details in how to participate in the AfterEllen.com BAM contest.

Brunch With Bridget: Episode 17 "Class Clowns"

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into Bridget's bed, Double D herself, The L Word's Elizabeth Keener, stopped by this week with a bag of tricks so big it would give Carrot Top prop-envy.

In addition to talking about her upcoming show on the here! network, Keener also tells us all about her commercial resume (can you say "deli meat"?), her distinguished career as class clown, and what she will or won't do on a dare. (Here's a hint: Keener will do anything on a dare.)

Bridget and Keener also discuss sports, the tattoos they got in Vegas, and head injuries — reaching new levels of randomness along the way. … continue reading

Brunch With Bridget: Episode 16 "Brunch with Blazers"

Bridget's back in L.A. this week, with comedian extraordinaire Liz "Heart-hole" Feldman. As many of you know, Liz won four Emmys for her writing on a little program called The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which you can read about in her recent interview with AfterEllen.com. But in addition to being a famous writer, Liz is also a semi-professional photographer and a staunch blazer advocate. Watch and learn.

I don't know which of Liz's moments I liked best in this episode: describing the Basic Instinct-in-a-cardboard box incident, showing us her teen comedy headshots, or actually making Bridget blush.

Regardless, Bridget has clearly met her match. Bravo, Liz! Bravo!

Brunch With Bridget: Episode 15 "Spillin' Tea with Jenn and Dee"

Bridget's coming at you from Dinah Shore this week, where she invites fellow AfterEllen.com vloggers Jenn and Dee (Come With Me If You Want to Live) to join her in bed for brunch.

In addition to talking about Dinah, Jenn and Dee describe their first kisses, and Jenn explains why she always wanted to slap people be a mortician.

Bridget, meanwhile, explains how she earned the "Dinah Ho" t-shirt she's wearing (hint: it involves "ballet" dancing on a cube), and Bridget and Dee discover their paths crossed many years before — proving that all lesbians really do know each other!

Brunch with Bridget: Episode 13

In bed with Bridget this week is out actress Jill Bennett of Dante's Cove, 3Way and AE vlog We're Getting Nowhere fame. In addition to the typical Brunch hijinks, they also discuss Jill's childhood aspirations, the influential men in her life, and why being an out performer is so important in the battle against homophobia. Yes, this is A Very Special Semi-Serious Episode of Brunch with Bridget!

In addition to all the thoughtful discussion, they also play Show and Tell with photos from their childhoods, and from a recent game of Broomball (they were on opposite teams).

They also grudgingly display their high school prom pictures, so it turns out that there is some comedy in this Very Special Episode after all.

Brunch With Bridget: Episode 10

On my last trip to L.A., Bridget invited me to be a guest on Brunch with Bridget, which I agreed to only after she met my list of demands: that we film it in my hotel room in plush robes while eating overpriced room service breakfast. She reluctantly agreed.

Since we're both Libras and mildly opinionated, a casual conversation about growing up in the country soon turned into a battle of words that led to a Professional Lesbian pillow-fight smackdown.

So basically, it was just like all of our other conversations. I love hanging out with Bridget!

Brunch With Bridget: Episode 6

This week Bridget lies down with comedian/songwriter Thessaly Lerner (aka the Ukulady), who's written a special song just for Bridget called "If I was gay I would make out with you." Later, Bridget sings her classic song, "I'll love you until the lease runs out."

Along with the jam session, and playing with Thessaly's many toys (including a vintage Jabba the Hutt), Bridget and Thessaly celebrate Winston's 6th birthday. Baby Bridget is still depressed over her breakup with Jill Bennett and therefore not at her top form.

Bridget's bed suffers irreversible damage during the pillow fight (we knew this day would come, didn't we?) Don't forget, No Boys Allowed!
