Get Smart"Get Smart" with Anne Hathaway this weekendAlright ladies, bust out those mechanical pencils and dust off your textbooks; it’s finally time to Get Smart. The movie’s posters and trailers have been out for months, and while I’ve completely revved myself up for a good laugh, I’m still most excited about a heaping dose of one, Anne Hathaway.
As Agent 99, Hathaway is reprising Barbara Feldon’s role, and in an Associated Press interview, she gives credence to the gargantuan shoes she has to fill: “She inspired so many women. When you look at the kind of women we aspire to be today, a lot of them are very similar to Barbara Feldon's 99. There's no way I'm going to be able to touch that kind of legacy, but I do think I have good chemistry with my co-star, so that's probably what I have in common with her.” The co-star of which she speaks is (of course) Steve Carell, who plays her perpetually inept partner Maxwell Smart.
The film may only be hitting theaters today, but the Smart stars hit the red carpet on Monday for its premiere, and they all looked quite dapper. … continue reading Submitted on June 20, 2008 at 6:00 pm “Get Smart” gets sillyHey, want to watch something silly? Ah, the simple, fail-safe humor of people running into walls. Works every single time. Anyone familiar with the original 1960s small-screen show should know the film’s premise already. The good agents of CONTROL are fighting the evil forces of KAOS.
Leading the good fight are Steve as the hapless Maxwell Smart and Anne as his cool, kicky partner Agent 99. Hmm, flip that first “9” around and this could be a whole different kind of movie. You know, sort of like this. … continue reading Submitted on February 29, 2008 at 2:00 pm Movie poster roundup: "Get Smart," "Mamma Mia!" and moreI'm once again brain-dead on a Monday, so I thought I'd post some pretty posters. Get Smart (Anne Hathaway) — She gets smarter in every version of the poster.
The Forbidden Kingdom — A Jackie Chan movie, but I'll be focused on these two.
Jolene — No, it's not based on the Dolly Parton song, sadly. No matter how much the poster may seem to suggest that. … continue reading Submitted on February 4, 2008 at 1:00 pm The "Get Smart" poster and trailer go undercoverCinematical published the first teaser poster for Get Smart this week, and Steve Carrell has gone undercover. Under very beautiful cover.
We should all be so lucky as to have Anne Hathaway's hair covering our faces. (Minds out of the gutter, people.) Carrell and Hathaway are playing Maxwell Smart and Agent 99, the roles originally played by Don Adams and Barbara Feldon. … continue reading Submitted on November 16, 2007 at 2:03 pm |
