Julie chats with former Top Chef contestant Josie Smith-Malave about what animals she won't cook, and presents her with a Quickfire Challenge composed of items from Julie's refrigerator, which Julie ultimately pronounces "actually not terrible."

Alas, Julie's sidekick Kate McKinnon is MIA in this one. No doubt she got absorbed doing computer searches somewhere and lost track of time.

You've probably seen the headline by now: Former Top Chef contestant Josie Smith-Malave was attacked in an apparent gay bashing incident over Labor Day weekend.

Smith-Malave, her sister and a friend were asked to leave a bar in Sea Cliff, Long Island. According to Smith-Malave's lawyer, Yetta Kurland, about 10 "young adults" followed the women, shouted anti-gay epithets, spat on them and then beat them. Kurland is seeking to have the attack investigated as a hate crime. The New York Daily News has a few more details, but the full story is still forthcoming.
