Whitney Mixter and Sada Bettencourt head to “Couples Therapy”

After three seasons of back-and-forth on The Real L Word, Whitney Mixter and Sada (formerly Sara) Bettencourt got married during the season finale in July 2012. Now they’re bringing their post-marriage issues to the screen again, this time on VH1’s Couples Therapy.

Fans that follow the couple on Instagram likely had an idea this was coming after a few shots indicated they were returning to television, and the hashtag #VH1 tipped some people off.

This is the fourth season of the reality series which brings real life couples in to sit on the couch with Dr. Jenn Berman. The other couples involved on this season are Taylor Armstrong (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) & John Bluher, Farrah Abraham (Teen Mom), Ghostface Killah & Kelsey Nykole, and Jon Gosselin (Jon & Kate + Eight) & Liz Janetta. From the press release:

VH1 Couples Therapy” is the first reality show to examine firsthand the real life experiences of a group of buzzed-about couples. For some of these couples, living under constant scrutiny from the media and fans makes it increasingly hard for them to stay together and VH1 wants to see why they can’t seem to go the distance. These four-and-a-half couples, at a crossroads in their relationships, will join together for over 2 weeks as they undergo intensive relationship therapy. Under the guidance of Dr. Jenn Berman, a nationally renowned relationship therapist, the couples will participate in group and individual therapy along with relationship exercises out in the “real world” to see if they can rekindle the love they used to have for one another — or if it’s simply time for them to move on.
So what do you suppose Whitney and Sada’s issues are? We’ll see when the show premieres this January.
