Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
Okay, what is Aaron Sorkin smoking? Studio 60 was already a little too esoteric for most viewers, but last night’s episode even bored me – and I’m a big fan. A history of the studio? A father and son divided over the war? The Hollywood blacklist? It was like an ABC afterschool special, with slightly better writing. The storyline about racial diversity (or the lack thereof) on the writing staff was interesting, but the rest of the show was one long invitation to fast forward with the Tivo remote. On the positive side, real-life friends Sarah Paulson and Amanda Peet had great chemistry in their scenes together last night – certainly better than anyone else did in that episode. Harriet should dump the baseball player and Matt and go out with Jordan instead. Now that might drive up the ratings.
