Morning Brew – Straight people tell us what lesbians look like

Good morning and Happy Friday! Filmmaker Jodi Savitz released this clip from her upcoming documentary Girl on Girl where straight people answer what they think lesbians look like. Results are laughable.

Lana Del Rey has released a trailer for her new music video, “Tropico,” (this is the world we live in now) and there are some hints at a few girl-on-girl scenes.

An Argentinian lesbian-themed horror film called Darkness by Day is premiering in Havana at the New Latin American Cinema Festival in December. I’m hoping it will come to the U.S. soon after!

Aussie Big Brother contestant Tully Smyth was dating a woman when she went into the house, until she met housemate Anthony Drew. Now she’s talking about the backlash she’s received from viewers:

“It’s actually been really funny in a way for me to have to come to terms with the fact that maybe I’m not so gay. I think that the lesbian community saw a non-stereotypical lesbian in a long-term relationship and they wanted to make me this new posterchild for marriage equality and all the bigger greater things, and that’s fine, but I never said I was going to be that person.”

Hopefully her showmance works out for her, but we all know how those things tend to go. Lea Seydoux is profiled in the new issue of Vogue UK, where she discusses Blue is the Warmest Color:

“What I like about the film, and what I found extraordinary, was that it was a very simple story. One camera, two people: it’s a very average story, about love, and the end of that love, and the sadness and truth about it.”

She also says the blue hair color would run down her face every night so she was glad to rid of it. Amy Ray has premiered a new song from her upcoming country album Goodnight Tender. Check out “Oyster and Pearl.”
