Fans of Stieg Larsson‘s Millennium novels, focusing on bisexual hacker and bad ass Lisbeth Salander, will be pleased to learn that the final film in the trilogy, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, will be hitting U.S. theatres (in limited release) on Oct. 29. It follows The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played With Fire, which played in the US over the summer (and will be released on DVD in the US on October 26).
The Swedish Millennium films are set to be remade for U.S. audiences by director David Fincher, and will star Rooney Mara (The Social Network) as Lisbeth Salander and Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist.
Will the US version measure up to the original? We can only hope. In the meantime, check out this trailer for the Swedish Hornet’s Nest and tell us if looks like the gripping ride we all hope it will be.
