Anna Paquin says people are prejudiced against bisexuals

In a new spread for V magazine, Anna Paquin discusses her bisexuality openly for one of the first times since she publicly came out in a 2010 PSA for We Give a Damn. She told the mag:

Frankly no one had ever asked me before. There is a lot of prejudice against us but the more people talk about it, the less of a deal it will be. Who people choose to sleep with — or spend their lives with-shouldn’t matter, not that anyone particularly cares who I’m attracted to.
When Anna came out in the viral video, it made a huge impact on the Internet. This was still pre-It Gets Better, and before the more recent good news political actions of the state and federal governments. And when people like Anna are open about their sexualities – especially as a bisexual woman whose sexuality doesn’t become altered because of the gender of the person she is with or married to – it’s a positive example for those who might have the prejudices she speaks of.

Anna previously spoke with Zap2It about her decision to make the announcement, saying:

I’m not someone who endlessly talks about her personal life for no reason, but obviously, as someone who identifies as bisexual, those are issues I really care about – and frankly, I don’t see why everyone doesn’t care about them. So when I was asked to participate in that PSA, it was just an obvious, “Well, of course I will.”
For Anna, it’s just that simple!

It also appears the actress is not threatened by the fandom her husband and co-star Stephen Moyer is surrounded by on a regular basis. She tells the mag:

There is probably something wrong with me, but I find it amusing to watch these men and women fawn all over him It’s not like anyone is really trying to do anything inappropriate. They just [want] him to hug them… or bite them.
I wonder if she fields the same requests!
