Vote Now for the 2011 AfterEllen.com Hot 100!

It’s time for The AfterEllen.com Hot 100 again!

Our first annual Hot 100 (in 2007) came about in response to a Hot 100 list published by Maxim magazine. AfterEllen.com readers found Maxim‘s list to be “generally unbelievable and incorrect,” so we invited you to create a list of your own and, thus, an annual tradition began!

In our endless quest to provide a forum for lesbian/bi women to express your opinions about all things related to pop culture, we present the Hot 100 poll again this year. If you find yourself frustrated by mainstream (i.e. heterocentric) culture’s definitions of “sexy, “attractive,” or, well, “hot,” then this is your opportunity to proclaim your appreciation for the women who you think embody those terms.

In the form below, you can submit your nominations for the 10 women you think are the hottest on the planet. They can be gay or straight, young or old, and of any race or nationality – basically any woman you find desirable. The woman with the most votes will be No. 1, the woman with the second highest number of votes will be No. 2, and so on down the list (which means it doesn’t matter what order you list the names in the form).

Unlike past years, we won’t be doing any breakout lists of Women of Color or Women Over 40 as those polls didn’t generate nearly as much interest. But as you consider your top 10 hotties, we would encourage you to keep in mind that all kinds of women are hot and let the diversity of your choices reflect that fact.

Who will return from last year’s list? What fresh new faces will be joining them? The polls will be open until midnight Friday, May 13, and then we’ll publish the results on Monday, May 23.

One request: So that we can get a true picture of who lesbian and bi women find attractive, please don’t vote more than once. We’ve set up the form to count only the last vote from a specific IP address, so ballot stuffing will be wasted effort, anyway (and if you submit the same name 10 times, it will only count once, so don’t try that either!)

Please nominate each person by their full name (e.g. “Jane Smith, not “Jane” or “Jane S.”) and spell it correctly. Please don’t submit more than one name in a field; these entries will be discarded.

If you have any questions before you vote, you can leave them in the comments, and we’ll try to answer them there.

If you need some inspiration, check out the Hot 100 from 2010. Now go forth and nominate, and then be sure to tell the rest of the world who you voted for by posting your choices on Facebook or tweeting them out!

Voting has closed! Check back May 23rd when the Hot 100 list is revealed!
