If the concept of derby wives were tranferred into music, Hannah & Maggie would be the perfect example. These best friends sang in the a capella group Smiffenpoofs while attending Smith College, then started touring together in 2010. Their raw acoustic folk tunes exude a mellow but passion-filled emotional ride into sentimental valley.
One can’t help but relate to the lyrics which most listeners can apply to their own experiences of love, lost, and the bitter-sweet cycles of life. Their music video for their 2014 song “Home As We Know It” features these friends on their guitars being cut from shot to shot in different towns during what appears to be a road trip. These two are who we are thinking about when we hashtag #FriendshipGoals.
