Congratulations to Caitlyn Jenner, who makes her dazzling debut on the upcoming cover of Vanity Fair. Famed queer photographer Annie Leibovitz was a perfect choice for Caitlyn’s debut, known for her ability to not only show a subject’s glamour and style, but capture their spirit as well. After an incredibly moving interview with Diane Sawyer in April discussing a life long desire to live her most authentic life, Caitlyn decided to use the cover of one of the world’s most famous lifestyle magazines to write the next chapter of her life. She even has a new Twitter account you can follow.
In a behind the scenes video, Caitlyn tells us how she finally feels she can be herself: “Bruce always had to tell a lie. He was always living that lie. Everyday he always had a secret. From morning til night.” We see Annie and Caitlyn, setting up shots and chatting, all the while Caitlyn narrates this monumental moment in her life.
“Soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out, I’m free,” Caitlyn says as the video closes.
Congratulations, Caitlyn. There is an exquisite feeling of freedom when you can truly be yourself, so there is only really one thing to say: Welcome, Caitlyn. So glad to meet you. Caitlyn’s issue hits the stands June 9th.
