Brandy Clark is happy to be an unconventional (and gay) country artist

Out musician Brandy Clark has a great video interview with AP where she discusses being an unconventional country artist, writing songs like “Follow Your Arrow” about being who you are and how she’s “embraced completely as who she is.”

In other Brandy news, she just signed with Warner Bros. for her next album. Brandy posted a statement on her Facebook page sharing her excitement:

“I am thrilled to be working with Dan McCarroll and the Warner Bros. LA staff. I’m so lucky to have a musical home that embraces and encourages originality and creativity. I’m so excited to be making music with them and look forward to this next step in my career.”

It’s poised to be a winning week for Brandy, who is also nominated for CMA’s New Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. Tune in Wednesday night for the Country Music Awards on ABC to see if it truly is Brandy Clark’s best week ever. And this winter, check Brandy out on tour with Alan Jackson.
