Back in 2005, Joan Jett‘s Blackheart Records sued retailer Hot Topic for using their logo on some of their clothing without permission. They finally settled in 2013 and are now teaming up with Joan herself for new line of rocker wear. In a collaboration with Tripp NYC, the line will include affordable pieces, as everything will retail for less than $65.
“For me, I’ve taken a look at my style and kind of interpreting that into where we start small and see if people like it,” Joan told Nylon. “We’ve got a black skinny jean with pleather insets and zippers, a couple of motorcycle jackets with laceup sleeves-one in black, one in red-a black pleather fitted jacket with zippers. You know, that kind of stuff. I have an asymmetrical lace up tank top with pleather laceup details and a really cool black and red destructed heart sweater, for two layers. And actually, I wear all that stuff, too.”

Joan has always had an androgynous style, preferring pants to skirts and dark blacks and deep reds to pink or any kind of pastels. It seems like TRIPP NYC and Hot Topic are the perfect partners for her in this new venture.
The Joan Jett line launches in Hot Topics nationwide on November 4.
