Vote for the 2009 AfterEllen.com Hot 100!
It's time for The AfterEllen.com Hot 100 again! Time to tell the world who lesbian and bi women think are sexy — because even with all the increased visibility we've had in the last decade, heterosexual men and women still dominate the discussion about who and what is attractive, online, on TV, and in magazines like People and Maxim. Which makes creating this list not only fun, but a little bit revolutionary. In the form below, you can submit your nominations for the 10 women you think are the hottest women on the planet. They can be gay or straight, young or old, and of any race or nationality — basically, any woman who turns you on. The woman with the most votes will be No. 1, the woman with the second highest number of votes will be No. 2, and so on down the list (which means it doesn't matter in what order you list the names in the form). Voting will stay open for two weeks until April 24th, and then we'll publish the results on Monday, May 11th. To keep you entertained in between, we'll feature one of the 100 on the blog each weekday from April 27th to May 8th, and you can guess where she landed on the list. This year, you can also submit nominees for companion lists in the following categories: 10 Hottest Out Lesbian/Bi Women, 10 Hottest Women of Color, and 10 Hottest Women Over 40. And yes, you can nominate someone for more than one list. To submit up to 5 nominees in each of these separate polls just click on the relevant icon (before or after completing your Hot 100 submissions below):
One request: So that we can get a true picture of who lesbian and bi women find attractive, please don't vote more than once in any of the polls. We've set up the form to count only the last vote from a specific IP address, so ballot stuffing will be wasted effort, anyway (and if you submit the same name 10 times, it will only count once, so don't try that either!) Please nominate each person by their full name (e.g. "Jane Smith, not "Jane" or "Jane S.") and spell it correctly. Please don't submit more than one name in a field; these entries will be discarded. If you have any questions before you vote, you can leave them in the comments, and we'll try to answer them there. Now go forth and nominate!

Ok - so I took a different approach to my nominations this year! Noramlly I'll just go from my gut and pick a bevy of babes that I think warm up the room and be done with it...this year though I could hardly begin to use this approach since the fact is there simply are so many gorgeous gals out there...
So I deceided to nominate according to women who had left a lasting impression on me over the last year via beauty and community/intellectual contribution:
Kate Winslet - who can even begin to deny the fact that her wins this awards season were well deserved and completely overdue. She accepted in all cases with passion and respect. She also represents a healthy standard for women physically and professionally!
Crystal Chappell - she's our new Beacon (pun intended). She has taken on quite the role...there's no denying her beauty or her courage!
Clementine Ford - Gorgeous yes...but courageous also. Her half retraction after her not so coming out left me wary. But the fact that she just stepped up and claimed her identity showed me she's far more than just Cybill Shepherd's kid!
Tricia Helfer - any BSG fan would have to agree that the ladies of Battlestar Galactica should all assume the rank of Admiral. Tricia's obvious dedication to her part in the greatest show of all time will put her on my list - in additional her consistently daring choices in roles prove to me she's more than just a red dress.
Katee Sackhoff - for all the reason listed for Ms. Helfer - AND because she is my favourite (and that of a few others) onscreen tomboy! Long live Kara Thrace!
Rachel McAdams - This decadent fresh faced beauty reigns from my home country of Canada, which gives her an instant leg up. She's had a varied career and has remained almost scandal free...seems to me this makes her quite similar to a unicorn.
Meghan McCain - I know some of you might think this is an odd choice. I watched the American Presidential Race carefully and studied all the players - in doing so I discovered the wonder of Meghan McCain. She could essentially be considered a masked avenger on a few fronts. In reading her postings etc. I've determined she would have been our voice in the White House had her dad won the race. Also she is a champion for genuine beauty insisting that stick thin does not equal attractive. Like her dad or not she's somebody I think is far more than meets the eye - and the view ain't bad either!
Cat Cora - A woman who can cook, makes a chef jacket sexy and is a pround member of our community - enough said!
Malin Akerman - As the single solitary upfront female character in the 'Watchmen' movie she carried every scene she was in...in doing most of her own stunts and showing that tough can be graceful too she turned my head.
Lastly Nigella Lawson - What hot list could ever be complete without Nigella. She also proves that rail thin is heinously over-rated! This British marvel simply makes me hungry :)

Just a question
What happens if there are many or at least two votes for say 50 of the top 100, and from then on it's all one vote per person (there seem to be a lot of people voting for someone no one else has mentioned), how will the choice be made for the remaining slots? LOL, maybe it won't come to that....
But what if there are ties, that is likely! What if 5 people are tied with 33 votes for example? How will they get placed? Will they all share the 27th hottest position?

Seriously guys, if you're not watching her and letting her rip your heart out every day on Guiding Light you're so missing out. Its vastly annoying to me that any little sniff of a lesbian mention on any blog or television show sends us all running, but CC is still so under the radar because she's on daytime. Should be more than 10 POC/O40/OUT
Since the general list is the top 100, the liklihood is that there will be 10 women of color on that list, and so having a top 10 women of color list means it will basically be the 10 women of color from the HOT100.
It should be like, 50, or something, to really show different women.
The out one is kind of silly imo after having seen previous years - I predict that a good 1/3 of the HOT100 will be out anyway so again, it will just repeat.
