Interview With Lindy Zucker

AE: I was wondering if you had any especially wacky stories from the set.
LZ: Let's see … we're always kind of laughing. There haven't been any difficult moments, aside from really hilarious things like shooting outside. Naturally we're in a park and people just sort of mutate over to where we are, regardless of whether they were playing soccer miles away — the camera just sort of draws people. Even if it isn't famous people shooting a huge film, the moment you take a camera out, wherever you are, people are just suddenly in your face.

That's been funny in terms of like how long it's taken to shoot a short scene because children won't stop lobbing their soccer balls at the bench we're sitting on [laughs]. It's generally funny — there are lots of scenes where I'm eating ridiculous food. There's a scene coming up where through the seven takes I ate like half a chocolate cake — I was almost ill!

We're usually having a good time and trying not to laugh half the time when we're shooting, just because we're coming up with really dumb lines, and Regan will let us do them.

Fletcher didn't really jive with me at first, but it grew on me with each new episode. Now I love it. Lindy is great (so is Dana of course).

That tape recorder is definitely one of the coolest things about this show.

Huzzah!  I was hoping we'd get interviews with the B.J. Fletcher cast!  

It amazes me that they were able to get such a professional looking show with so many different locations and actors for only 50 BUCKS.  I can't even get a pair of pants for $50, my God.

I have to admit I was being slightly facetious when I said $50, as the debt on Regan's credit card is significantly higher. I was just trying to stress that we relied on a lot of favours and goodwill to pull it off for what we did and absolutely nobody got paid for anything.....which can cause more stress than you would imagine.

 I think it is advantageous  to have other web series go on hiatus because it gives one the opportunity to check out otherwise ignored gems. After overlooking this series for the first three episodes or so, I finally peeked in and am now a rabid fan. Unfortunately, we are all entertainment whores now and want endless episodes of all the series and vlogs, forgetting that you folks are making them on a zero budget and on your own time. I know it's not much but here's a wee word of thanks for all of the effort and laughs...

Great interview but the uncertain future of the series made me sad, especially the fact that it is not sustainable in its current form.

I'm not too sure what the solution to make it financially viable for the cast involved is, as web series are such a new format.

Anyhow, it's great to see such enthusiastic women making it happen - I love DIY when it comes to art (I hate DIY in the house though lol).

I have to admit, afterellen.com has been a bit of an L word pacifier. But now I'm totally hooked and I think webseries such as BJ Fletcher makes me proud of the creativity and (let us not forget) humor which our community can produce.

I love love LOVE B.J. Fletcher and wait in anticipation for it every week, and I'm never let down!  It's such a great show with such an incredible cast!  Which of course includes Lindy, who is ridiculously hilarious as Fletcher!  And smokin' hot to boot!  Damn girl, workin' those aviators!

The show is hilarious and so entertaining! great interview.

I agree with all the above comments about webseries.  I love all the webseries AE brings to us and makes me feel proud.  WHo needs television when you've AfterEllen.com :D  Step aside CSI and all it's spinoffs, because here comes B.J. FLETCHER PRIVATE EYE!!
