2007 Power Premiere PhotosOn Sunday night at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., POWER UP's seventh annual Power Premiere brought together old favorites and new stars to honor 10 Amazing Gay Women in Showbiz, which this year included writer and director Lisa Cholodenko (High Art, Laurel Canyon); Cherien Dabis (Little Black Boot, The D Word); Tanya Grubich (MyBroadway.com); producer Lori Kaye (Work Out); Danielle Knight, Director, Legal Affairs, Warner Bros. Television; GO publisher Amy M. This year's Power Premiere also honored director Donna Deitch with with an Artistry Award for her iconic film Desert Hearts, the first American feature film about lesbians that was also written and directed by a woman. To round out the evening, Power Up showed scenes from their new movie Itty Bitty Titty Committee, and AfterEllen.com Editor-in-Chief Sarah Warn presented a special video tribute to groundbreaking lesbian scenes on American television over the last 20 years, and the actresses who performed in them. At the silent auction and dinner, Desert Hearts' Helen Shaver and Patricia Charbonneau mingled with Queer as Folk's Michelle Clunie and Thea Gill and Xena's Renee O'Connor, while Jill Bennett (Dante's Cove, AfterEllen.com's We're Getting Nowhere video blog), Michelle Paradise (Exes & Ohs) and South of Nowhere's Maeve Quinlan, Gabrielle Christian and Mandy Musgrave posed for our camera. Our photographer Faye Sadou snapped many great photos at the event, and we've posted the best ones here over the next several pages. Enjoy!
