I guess I can trade seeing Olivia on my small screen in favor of the big screen — especially if one of those big screen roles is as a stripper, like in Butter. According to Entertainment Weekly, Olivia will appear only at the very beginning of next season and then be gone for several episodes. This week’s season finale already hinted at her upcoming departure with Thirteen saying she was taking a leave of absence for the hospital.
Olivia will take time off to shoot the sci-fi western Cowboys & Aliens with Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford. Iron Man director Jon Favreau helms the big-budget project which starts shooting this summer. The production is expected to overlaps with the filming of the seventh season of House by at least two months. But don’t worry, Olivia’s House bosses seem fine with her extracurricular activities. Series executive producer Katie Jacobs said, “She had this opportunity and she was really excited about it. We’re very proud of her and very happy for her.”
Olivia is, clearly, excited to be a part of the project. She spoke with MTV recently about the film.
But that’s not the only high-profile film project in Olivia’s future. This December, the highly anticipated sequel Tron Legacy races onto screens. Olivia is also in the midst of filming the comedy Butter, where she stars as a tattooed stripper in the midst of a state fair butter sculpting contest. Some one-the-set shots of Olivia have already emerged.
The actress has also been tweeting up a storm about her role, talking about her pole dancing training and her “teacup of wardrobe.”
So, are you bummed about Olivia leaving House for a bit or more excited about her coming to the big screen instead?
