Notes From The Road: Kaia Wilson and Jennifer O’Connor on tour (The Finale)

Our last show in Philadelphia was in a church, A very pretty, filled-with-holiness church. It was a little weird — maybe it was because the Rapture was upon us, I don’t know. But it’s Monday now and nothing happened on Saturday, so we can all get on with our lives and stop making dumb rapture jokes. Right? A girl can only hope.

Anyway, the show was great. I played a cover of Elliott Smith’s “Baby Britain” — my first time — and Kaia played a gorgeous rendition of The Smith’s “Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want” and the whole crowd sang along like a lullaby. It was super sweet.

Here’s a pic of the last Kaia/JO’C collaboration of the tour.

Kaia also performed a Sinead O’Connor’s “Troy” again — a bookend of sorts for me since she played it at our first show as well. Sinead was a bit like a spiritual guide on this tour for us. In fact, this is our tour book:

The tour is over for me, and I will continue working on my new record. You can keep up with me at my website or on Twitter. Kaia will be on tour for another couple of weeks, keep up with her on her Facebook page and go see play if she’s hitting your city on her way home!

Love,

Jennifer
