I couldn't read the entire article but that's ok, I get where it's coming from.

I can only hope that someone has actually listened to the fans this season. I don't believe it's just a writing problem, it's the way the writing is interpreted and shot and edited. I used to love the artistic editing in the first season. That seems to have been lost of the last couple of seasons.

In the UK we are part way through S3 and I can see why this series is disappointing for avid L Word followers. But having read the salon.com article I do feel it's a bit OTT with quotes like the following[i:d82684fd62]....."The L Word" has become trash. Not just regular trash like "E!" or "90210" reruns, but bad, bad trash -- the kind so pungent and sticky that just being near it makes you feel yucky." [/i:d82684fd62] We can't argue that this series has lost its humour and edginess but to describe it as tacky is just plain harsh in my opinion.

However all is not lost the additions of Marlee Maitlin, Kristinna Loken and Cybil Shepherd will be interesting and add some much needed fresh characters to the show. For the diehard fans Karina Lombard returning, albeit briefly, is a plus and on a personal note Jennifer Beals minus her bump will be able to return to Bette behaviours in the bedroom. :D

An average L Word with hope for an improved S4 is better than no L Word. We have too few programs to moan or cheer at as it is....so we need to get behind the program and be positive that S4 gets back to basics.

I just watched the new promo for season 4 (the "I'm a Lesbian" promo.) And I have to say I found it offesive. I understand the message they were trying to make, that everyone wants to watch the show. But the tag line, "This time of year, everyone is a lesbian," is horrible. Its mocking and in bad humor. They could have had the same message without being so crude. If they had wanted to show how everyone, straight, gay was watching the L word then show a bunch of empty stores, buisnesses etc and everyone crowded around t.vs watching the show. But not this crap.
