but I guess an example that i could use to prove the point i was originally making, was the instance where Carmen comes out to her family. shane is trying to get her calm down and she says "what the hell do you know about family?" The only thing that saves her in this scene is the phone ringing.
The scene itself had the enormous potential to highlight shane's fears about family and commitment, but instead it was brushed under the carpet and never spoken of again. In it's place, was Shane's impromptu reunion with her father in the last episode which made no sense to me at all as I would have thought that shane would have been more suspicious of a family that had left her alone as a child. I thought that it may have been more realistic to explore shane's family problems with Carmen after the original argument.

And even though I think Sarah Shahi is like...so unbelievable--great acting and amazing hotness and so funny when she's got funny lines--I feel that her character on the show no longer has a real function and place...so Carmen should become a super successful DJ and move away and find true love.

And meanwhile, Jenny and Shane spending so much time together makes them realize their REAL feelings for each other...which, of course, are romantic feelings, and they go slowly, because there must be respectful mourning time for Shane to feel regret and sorry for breaking Carmen's heart.

So that can't be the big secret. So right away, I assume pregnancy.
Then Alice and Lara realize that they're having sex because of their grief and they help each other get over their grief and become good friends and raise Little Dana together...sorta like aunts.

I don't know, I just can't see shane and jenny together. I've seen this written several times and I can't quite make out the connection. Alice and shane, however is a little more doable I think. I have been rewatching the 1st season (I'm gaving withdrawals) and there seems like there could be something between those two, so it would be cool if that was explored.
And after watching the first season again, I remembered how much I really enjoyed the opening scenes for each episode. They were so artistic and beautiful, it was like a celebration of being a woman. I think that has been lost in the next two seasons. So I'ld like that to come back.

I was thinking the same ... but Tina find Henry actually pressing charges . She gets realy mad and tell him stop trying to be the man in her life, so Henry and his child leave. Tina help Bette with the police and they TALK for the first time in months.

I don't exactly know what I want for season 4... One thing is for sure, please no Alice and Lara. Alice is my fave character and I really don't want to see her with Lara. Lara's cute but she's boring. Alice should meet a sexy new girl... or maybe she could meet a great guy (not like the one in the first season) because so far, Alice really doesn't appear to me as a bisexual character at all. Except for that Lisa guy and a few comments here and there, she's more lesbian than bisexual. As a bisexual, I admit, I want to be reprensented.

Being from the UK, I haven't seen any of S3 yet - but I'm cheating and reading the recaps, so I know what's happened so far.
For S4, there are a few things I'd like to see ..
1. More humour - let them just have some fun.
2. More romance - I like the hot sex scenes as much as everybody else, but some good old fashioned romance would be nice as well.
3. New opening credits, including a new theme tune.
4. Some of those girls need to lighten up and not take themselves so seriously. Maybe Jenny should stop trying to write the next great amercian novel and write a lightweight feelgood story that turns into a bestseller.
5. They need to go on location .. to the UK!
6. If the rumours are true and S3 is the last we see of Dana, then she should come back as a ghost - a bit like they did with Gary in thirtysomething.
-Alice and Lara somehow get over Dana, and move on as a happy couple (without the scratching... like we need ANOTHER cutter *cough* Jenny *cough*).
-Shane goes missing after the wedding, no one can find her or her father, Carmen gets worried, and after disobeying her mother's wishs against going after her, Carmen sets out to find Shane who is declared dead (or something dramtic)... but she finds her and Shane says sorry and after more spraying with the fire exstrinser, they try to start over... again...
-Bette ALSO goes missing with the baby and no one (including the police) can find them. Tina gets worried and breaks things off with Henry cause he's a stupid :censored: and instead of trying to take away the baby, she (for some odd reason) is concerned with Bette and wants to give it one more shot. They find both Bette and the baby and no charges are pressed.
-Kit decides she WANTS to get an aboration when something happens to Angus and he leaves (or dies.. I don't care). Then whatever was bugging Kit in the beginning comes back and she has to go to the hospital... NO DYING!
-Max leaves... far far away!
-Jenny leaves... or dies... jumps off a cliff... or doesn't get a storyline.
-Helena... I d/k... gets a good plot.
Does anyone know if the rumours that Marina will be back this season are in any way substantiated? I remember reading an interview where Ilene Chaiken stated emphatically that Marina would not be back yet there has been word that she may appear in an episode or 2.
I was just reading on another message board, that the show had been cancelled. I find that hard to believe since Showtime was raving about the ratings it was receiving--does anyone know if there's any truth to that???

The above promo has been removed for some reason, however having personally watched it before it disappeared rest assured that Karina Lombard's beautiful face is the final teaserat the end of the promo.
On that nice thought I want to share my positive thoughts / expectations for the next series. Firstly Bette needs to get back to being the strong Bette we know and love......and stop wallowing in self pity where Tina is concerned. I'd love to see Tina back to being jealous whilst Bette struts her stuff and Tina questioning her sexuality once again. However they should stay apart until series 8 or so (forever the optimistic Brit!). I'd also like to see Shane 'love em and leave em' and maybe Guin Turner's bitchy character making a reappearance would be good.
For me my main expectation is that the writers DO NOT WASTE the brilliant opportunity they have with the new characters to be played by Marlee Maintlin, Kristina Loken and Cybil Shepherd. Whilst we know and love our regulars the show needs to reinvent itself out of last seasons doom and gloom......here's hoping! :lword:

Carmen is definitely not coming back for S4, whch if rumours are true leaves Shane free to meet up with Kristina Loken's character. From what I've read elsewhere they meet at a PTA meeting, which is a bit odd as how would Shane have anything to do with children?

Like Desperate Housewives, The L Word boasts a luminous cast, steamy plot lines, and a seriously fake town. But there the comparisons between ABC's runaway success and Showtime's hot lesbian drama fizzle. For one thing, Housewives appears outside the dirty confines of cable TV. For another, it has men.
Despite the absence of testosterone (and really, who needs it?) in its show, Showtime has a hit on its hand -- and some buzz to flash around town. The series, which is currently in its third season, spiked 26% yesterday, ranks in our top 1,700 searches, and strikes a Search pose after each episode airs.
If you've watched some, or any, of The L Word, you might have wondered if the guys have caught on to its hot action. The answer, according to Buzz, is a big fat no: Nearly 85% of the searches come from women. You naughty, naughty girls.
As for the actresses, the lovely Sarah Shahi, who plays Carmen, spiked 46% yesterday, but her co-star Katherine Moennig, who portrays the ultra-cool hairdresser Shane, garners the most Search numbers each week. I don't know, I just can't see shane and jenny together. I've seen this written several times and I can't quite make out the connection. Alice and shane, however is a little more doable I think. I have been rewatching the 1st season (I'm gaving withdrawals) and there seems like there could be something between those two, so it would be cool if that was explored.
And after watching the first season again, I remembered how much I really enjoyed the opening scenes for each episode. They were so artistic and beautiful, it was like a celebration of being a woman. I think that has been lost in the next two seasons. So I'ld like that to come back.

I was thinking the same ... but Tina find Henry actually pressing charges . She gets realy mad and tell him stop trying to be the man in her life, so Henry and his child leave. Tina help Bette with the police and they TALK for the first time in months.

All I ask for is some romance...the good kind, between people who genuinely care for each other. If Tina and Bette can find their way back to each other in a realistic way, I'd love for some Tibette.
Also, Carmen coming back would be GREAT but not with Shane.
ANd if they're going to introduce characters, I'd like some college aged cute girls running around. That would be my cup of tea.

I don't exactly know what I want for season 4... One thing is for sure, please no Alice and Lara. Alice is my fave character and I really don't want to see her with Lara. Lara's cute but she's boring. Alice should meet a sexy new girl... or maybe she could meet a great guy (not like the one in the first season) because so far, Alice really doesn't appear to me as a bisexual character at all. Except for that Lisa guy and a few comments here and there, she's more lesbian than bisexual. As a bisexual, I admit, I want to be reprensented.

Being from the UK, I haven't seen any of S3 yet - but I'm cheating and reading the recaps, so I know what's happened so far.
For S4, there are a few things I'd like to see ..
1. More humour - let them just have some fun.
2. More romance - I like the hot sex scenes as much as everybody else, but some good old fashioned romance would be nice as well.
3. New opening credits, including a new theme tune.
4. Some of those girls need to lighten up and not take themselves so seriously. Maybe Jenny should stop trying to write the next great amercian novel and write a lightweight feelgood story that turns into a bestseller.
5. They need to go on location .. to the UK!
6. If the rumours are true and S3 is the last we see of Dana, then she should come back as a ghost - a bit like they did with Gary in thirtysomething.

I have a new idea!
-Alice and Lara somehow get over Dana, and move on as a happy couple (without the scratching... like we need ANOTHER cutter *cough* Jenny *cough*).
-Shane goes missing after the wedding, no one can find her or her father, Carmen gets worried, and after disobeying her mother's wishs against going after her, Carmen sets out to find Shane who is declared dead (or something dramtic)... but she finds her and Shane says sorry and after more spraying with the fire exstrinser, they try to start over... again...
-Bette ALSO goes missing with the baby and no one (including the police) can find them. Tina gets worried and breaks things off with Henry cause he's a stupid :censored: and instead of trying to take away the baby, she (for some odd reason) is concerned with Bette and wants to give it one more shot. They find both Bette and the baby and no charges are pressed.
-Kit decides she WANTS to get an aboration when something happens to Angus and he leaves (or dies.. I don't care). Then whatever was bugging Kit in the beginning comes back and she has to go to the hospital... NO DYING!
-Max leaves... far far away!
-Jenny leaves... or dies... jumps off a cliff... or doesn't get a storyline.
-Helena... I d/k... gets a good plot.

The above promo has been removed for some reason, however having personally watched it before it disappeared rest assured that Karina Lombard's beautiful face is the final teaserat the end of the promo.
On that nice thought I want to share my positive thoughts / expectations for the next series. Firstly Bette needs to get back to being the strong Bette we know and love......and stop wallowing in self pity where Tina is concerned. I'd love to see Tina back to being jealous whilst Bette struts her stuff and Tina questioning her sexuality once again. However they should stay apart until series 8 or so (forever the optimistic Brit!). I'd also like to see Shane 'love em and leave em' and maybe Guin Turner's bitchy character making a reappearance would be good.
For me my main expectation is that the writers DO NOT WASTE the brilliant opportunity they have with the new characters to be played by Marlee Maintlin, Kristina Loken and Cybil Shepherd. Whilst we know and love our regulars the show needs to reinvent itself out of last seasons doom and gloom......here's hoping! :lword:

Well, I know my hopes are kinda... not likely of ever happening (like Jenny ever being sane or likeable like debs said), but this is what I think!
Hmm... it'll probably send Jenny through a loop. Maybe it'll piss off Max enough and he'll go away and fall off a cliff somewhere out in a desert!
But do we know if Carmen is coming back or not? I mean, that'll probably cause some trouble between Shane and the other girl she hooks up with.
And Bette's probably going to go through a crappy relationship with that blind (or was it deaf?) woman and probably end up with Tina AGAIN! In my opinion, if they can't work things out, then stop playing with our minds and hearts and just stay broken up! I can only take so much!
In my opinion, the writers are probably going to show Alice seemingly get better about Dana, than go do something crazy! My hopes, that'll the writers will give her a better plot and maybe we can see a bit of the Alice we know and love!

Carmen is definitely not coming back for S4, whch if rumours are true leaves Shane free to meet up with Kristina Loken's character. From what I've read elsewhere they meet at a PTA meeting, which is a bit odd as how would Shane have anything to do with children?
Anyway if Bette is sniffing around Marlee Maitlins character wher does that leave the one played by Cybill Shepherd? I also read that she was to question her sexuality after working / meeting with Bette.....Bette is going to be one hell of a busy girl is she not?

Like Desperate Housewives, The L Word boasts a luminous cast, steamy plot lines, and a seriously fake town. But there the comparisons between ABC's runaway success and Showtime's hot lesbian drama fizzle. For one thing, Housewives appears outside the dirty confines of cable TV. For another, it has men.
Despite the absence of testosterone (and really, who needs it?) in its show, Showtime has a hit on its hand -- and some buzz to flash around town. The series, which is currently in its third season, spiked 26% yesterday, ranks in our top 1,700 searches, and strikes a Search pose after each episode airs.
If you've watched some, or any, of The L Word, you might have wondered if the guys have caught on to its hot action. The answer, according to Buzz, is a big fat no: Nearly 85% of the searches come from women. You naughty, naughty girls.
As for the actresses, the lovely Sarah Shahi, who plays Carmen, spiked 46% yesterday, but her co-star Katherine Moennig, who portrays the ultra-cool hairdresser Shane, garners the most Search numbers each week. Pam Grier, Mia Kirshner, Jennifer Beals, and the new girl on the block, Daniela Sea, follow closely behind.
