Speaking of Alice, her relationship with the vampire is hilarious. Everytime i hear that creepy *screech screech screech* horror movie sound effect I crack up.
I'm so happy to see Jenny actually happy this season. It's so refreshing for her character.
It's awful watching Bette and Tina like this. I want them to just break up, develop individually as characters, and then reunite some season in the future when they can actually be happy together.

I think that, now i could be wrong and please feel free to correct me if you know better, that eppy's 1-6 were sent out to (those people that nominate) for some awards show. Some how they were leaked out so I don't think anymore of the episodes will turn up on the net.
It's fun to get them in advance and i would still watch it on the tube nothing beats watching it on a big screen. It's funny what a buzz this has created and now we find out the it also gets picked up for a 4th season.
I sure ain't complaining. The only thing is that the viewers who have watched these leaked eppy's will have to wait 3 long weeks for a new one.

The writers haven't given Lara the character much depth, but I don't think you can blame them for the lack of chemistry between her and Dana. But I do think that by ep. 5, Dana starts to feel alienated from Lara, so from then on, I think it's all right to say there isn't supposed to be any chemistry. But in 1-4 they are supposed to be a happy couple, and they are not convincing. Maybe that is a concious choice from the directors, because Dana still has some unresolved feelings for Alice. Maybe. Otherwise, I guess the actresses just haven't got that chemistry between them anymore.
I agree with you ^, Lara isn't meant to have any direct storylines I don't think,she's seen more as the kind,caring person that Dana left Alice for-& that is boring as a TV viewer as I think it's sort of supposed to be. It's Alice & Dana's story ultimately for the audience.
Bette-I'm glad someone else saw the little nod to Flashdance with the younger Bette & that hot,grey shoulderless top. It was set in 1985 & if my memorys correct Flashdance was filmed in 1984.
As for Bette being with men-I remember in season 1 when her & Tina collected that sperm (from the guy that wanked in the other room 8O ) Bette looks at it in the container & says something like "Ew,remember when we used to swallow this" or something of the like. So one assumes she was probably with a couple of guys half heartedly before being with women. It's a shame we never got to see Bettes story in that flashback ep from S1.
All in all,I think this show is back to it's best-the character chemistry as a group is envoking & the storylines have improved alot from S2 as well.
Alice & Dana this episode really tugged emotionally in an authentic way for me too-that last scene may have even seen ol Erin shed a tear or two 8O

But I think it's all a bit redundant anyway. It's not entirely unbelievable that Bette had sex with a man. Sometimes you have to try something before you rule it out altogether...
Why did I think Portia was hotter than Alex? Portia is hot but Alexandria, OH MY God!!! Love Alex and Shelly together. I still think that the reason Tina is being a bitch to Bette is because she's still has not forgiven Bette and deep down she is doing this "I want a man" thing because she knows that this will hurt Bette. If Tina doesn't wake up she will lose Bette. Shane is selfish, if Carmen does forgive her, this relationship with Carmen won't last because of Shane's selfishness. Just my thoughts.
Yeah, there is definetely somthing going on with Tina. She's behaving so erractically, one minute she's a bitchy little miss thang, then she's all stung and sorrowful. As irritating as she's been this season I think this is a pretty realistic storyline and I'm glad the writers are exploring it!
And yeah Alexandra Hedison is one fine betty of a woman. She and Helena make a luscious couple...somehow I don't see this lasting if they do get together, Helena is just too difficult for a basics girl like Dylan...
As for Shane and selfishness, I think she's earned the right to be a little selfish, afterall it sounds like her entire family just abandoned her as a kid...she's destructive in relationships because she's actually afraid of getting too attached to anybody...but I truly thing she and Carmen can make things work!!! They are just adorable together...
As for adorable, well, I still hold out hope for some kind of Alice and Dana reunion, if only just to give us viewers a little decent closure on this chapter...

This would certainly be an interesting twist given Tina's recent rejuventation to being straight. That Freudian slip with Helena about why straight women don't want the hassle of being a Lesbian was a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

Its almost too realistic, the acting in regards to Dana's cancer...the way its being played out. I can barely watch it, which means its fantastic (lost my mother to breast cancer...so yeah)
Go Alice...way to take control of the situation. For better or worse, Alice loves Dana, even if that means she has to watch her be with someone else.

I think what makes it so depressing is the thing about that type of cancer, once it hits the lymph nodes and spreads- the survival rates are tiny so the reality of it is we are more than likely going to see the downfall and death of a Miss Dana Fairbanks. In the process I'm guessing we're going to see her relationship with Lara fall apart, and Dana clinging to Alice.
So sad....Dana is their baby gay. I demand Lara be kept as a permanent *shakes fist* in her place.

I can't wait to see what the next connection with Bette will be, anything from her past will be cool like RobbeeDee said, her first time with a woman or better still first time with Tina, but I'm thinking that's doubtful since it would be like 96 or something and a big jump since they've been focusing on 84/85!
Tho for some reason i think the whole connection thing will connect Marilyn in ep1 to one of the main characters like shane or jenny and turn out to be their mum or something, so i'm guessing that for there to be like 5 more after bette next week, it might be Alice then 3 or 4 ppl to Shane or Jenny!

I thought Alice's giddyness with Ula was hilarious, and I am so glad that she finally got over Dana. It was an important step that was neccessary in order for her to support Dana and Lara.
Carmen's reaction to Shane was unexpected and humorous, a nice change from the bitch she was last ep...and Shane's hair, love it! When did Jenny's hair get that long? Or was I just not paying attention? While I liked how forgiving Jenny was with catching Max, (because who is she to call the kettle black?) I found that her reaction was perhaps light, and may encourage Max to repeat her sins.
I love how cute Helena was in trying to figure out straight women, and the irony in how Alexandra Hedison played straight, and how this has never happened before. Great kiss between them tho!
And the situation with Dana breaks my heart. I can't even begin to describe the feelings...:(
Oh, and I hope that the writers or cast is reading this, but season 3 is shaping up to be such a great one, the plotlines that draw us closer and closer to the tv, awesome cast, and the tackling of more diverse issues, much like that of S1. Just fricken awesome! :crispay: :lword:

I appreciate it that she is understanding of Moira, but I just don't like the character. She's just not really likeable. She doesn't have the draw to her that Carmen and Helena did last season. Both those characters made you feel something. Be it discord or empathy -- Moira's scenes just make me want to get up and make a sandwich.
I feel bad for Lara, but I still never saw much chemistry between the characters at all. What was there just seemed so shallow. I loved the way Dana reached out to Alice and how Alice stood up to Dana's parents because she knew Lara wouldn't. That was wonderful. Alice standing in the doorway, hesitant to enter Dana's room, just tore me up.
Loved the scene with Tina and Bette coming home to what's-his-name and Kit - Cracked me up. Still reserving my judgement on his character, but as one can probably tell, he hasn't made a wonderful impression on me since I can't even think of his name.
I really don't understand how everyone went to a party and planned dates when Dana was scheduled to have her surgery that day. Sure, she didn't let on how serious it was -- But we're (they're) women -- It's serious regardless whether or not it's Benign or Malignant.
Jenny's book being published is just great - Though I worry on how the publisher wants to make it a biography rather then fiction. Jenny didn't seem comfortable with it, but then she was tossed a hefty check and forgot that. I anticipate a lot of conflicts. (Which means, possibly, more Jenny time! Yay!)

Lara - I just don't feel anything from her. I did not even feel that she was that upset due to Dana's illness.
Shane & Carmen - I thought Carmen and Shane were done, but I see they are not :-( I just think Carmen is rude and witch! The way she speaks to Moira is just plain mean and nasty! "oh I guess you are happy you have a gf that is making money now!" Ugh! I just don't see Shane with her.
Tina and Bette - The story line is tired, it is time for them to move on.

Just finished watching this eppy... and all I have to say is if the viewers are not drawn to this show after ep's 5 & 6 then they will never be satisfied.
I feel like i've been through an emotional rollercoaster. Bravo to everyone of the castmembers, the writers, directors I was glued to my pc screen and didn't wanna blink in case i missed anything.

WOW...I only wish the season was longer than 12 eppy's and if it doesn't get picked up again i will be dissapointed because this has to be by far the best season.
People are upset that this character and that character are not meshing and so on and so on, but its a drama and if everyone lived happily ever after no one would be watching. The pot must be stirred every so often and with the short seasons it means more often..

As for another couple. Yeah, I hated Bette for sleeping with Candace...but the girl has gone beyond doing her penance for that. She is more than I think we could have imagined. And Tina, what a b***h. She asked Bette back into her life, allowed Bette to re-invest in their family emeotionally, and now she's shutting her out. Bette is trying so hard, I feel for her...even though it goes against all my principles I totally wanted Bette to let the Senator show her way more than her Art Collection...
As for Shane and Carmen, well WOW just about sums it up. Carmen is really Shane's angel...and vice versa!!! These two are a sheer delight...
Jenny is the seasons biggest surprise. She has become so strong, not quite normal (but who is) but just the way she so almost unfazed by anything...telling Moira "just don't hide". Jenny used to irritate the crap outta me but now I can't wait for her scenes. She's almost like a Bette in training, an independant mother hen...
As for the decadent presence of Ms. Alexandra Hedison (Ellen, really??!) I can't wait to see where this is going...

[color=white:fa98a1bca8]This season is really kicking into gear with episode 5 and 6. The ending was absolutely heartbreaking, and YES the look on Alice's face when she saw Dana---*sigh*. Even though I think Lara the soup chef is a sweetheart, I too don't feel the chemistry there that Dalice had.
Speaking of Alice, her relationship with the vampire is hilarious. Everytime i hear that creepy *screech screech screech* horror movie sound effect I crack up.
Mangus/Kit = gross. really really gross.
Billy/Max = equally gross.
I'm so happy to see Jenny actually happy this season. It's so refreshing for her character.
It's awful watching Bette and Tina like this. I want them to just break up, develop individually as characters, and then reunite some season in the future when they can actually be happy together.

I think that, now i could be wrong and please feel free to correct me if you know better, that eppy's 1-6 were sent out to (those people that nominate) for some awards show. Some how they were leaked out so I don't think anymore of the episodes will turn up on the net.
It's fun to get them in advance and i would still watch it on the tube nothing beats watching it on a big screen. It's funny what a buzz this has created and now we find out the it also gets picked up for a 4th season.
I sure ain't complaining. The only thing is that the viewers who have watched these leaked eppy's will have to wait 3 long weeks for a new one.

Tina; What a b*%$h :evil: , i mean seriously has she had a personality transplant. If she wanted men so much why did she fall for helena so fast, then spend half a season wanting B back only to within no time totally ignore her, I mean my heart broke for Bette when she was saying she'd miss her and tina was just nonresponsive! :( Seriously if i can suddenly start liking Helena surely they can revert tina back to her former glory, warm, caring, devoted and with bette! I mean every time she looks at angelica surely she thinks of bette, and how much in love they were and that it's at least worth trying to make it work, i meanone minute they're applying for bette to adopt and then tina's not even open to moving or compromising if bette gets a fab job, come on she's had that studio job like 5 minutes, bette even supported her after they split, and all of a sudden tina's taking the higher ground....

The writers haven't given Lara the character much depth, but I don't think you can blame them for the lack of chemistry between her and Dana. But I do think that by ep. 5, Dana starts to feel alienated from Lara, so from then on, I think it's all right to say there isn't supposed to be any chemistry. But in 1-4 they are supposed to be a happy couple, and they are not convincing. Maybe that is a concious choice from the directors, because Dana still has some unresolved feelings for Alice. Maybe. Otherwise, I guess the actresses just haven't got that chemistry between them anymore.

I agree with you ^, Lara isn't meant to have any direct storylines I don't think,she's seen more as the kind,caring person that Dana left Alice for-& that is boring as a TV viewer as I think it's sort of supposed to be. It's Alice & Dana's story ultimately for the audience.
Bette-I'm glad someone else saw the little nod to Flashdance with the younger Bette & that hot,grey shoulderless top. It was set in 1985 & if my memorys correct Flashdance was filmed in 1984.
As for Bette being with men-I remember in season 1 when her & Tina collected that sperm (from the guy that wanked in the other room 8O ) Bette looks at it in the container & says something like "Ew,remember when we used to swallow this" or something of the like. So one assumes she was probably with a couple of guys half heartedly before being with women. It's a shame we never got to see Bettes story in that flashback ep from S1.
All in all,I think this show is back to it's best-the character chemistry as a group is envoking & the storylines have improved alot from S2 as well.
Alice & Dana this episode really tugged emotionally in an authentic way for me too-that last scene may have even seen ol Erin shed a tear or two 8O

Oh lordy lord so much to say abt this ep! First of all, eps 5 and 6 are great (finally) and as much as loved ep5, I think this one was just as good really.

But I think it's all a bit redundant anyway. It's not entirely unbelievable that Bette had sex with a man. Sometimes you have to try something before you rule it out altogether...

Why did I think Portia was hotter than Alex? Portia is hot but Alexandria, OH MY God!!! Love Alex and Shelly together. I still think that the reason Tina is being a bitch to Bette is because she's still has not forgiven Bette and deep down she is doing this "I want a man" thing because she knows that this will hurt Bette. If Tina doesn't wake up she will lose Bette. Shane is selfish, if Carmen does forgive her, this relationship with Carmen won't last because of Shane's selfishness. Just my thoughts.

Yeah, there is definetely somthing going on with Tina. She's behaving so erractically, one minute she's a bitchy little miss thang, then she's all stung and sorrowful. As irritating as she's been this season I think this is a pretty realistic storyline and I'm glad the writers are exploring it!
And yeah Alexandra Hedison is one fine betty of a woman. She and Helena make a luscious couple...somehow I don't see this lasting if they do get together, Helena is just too difficult for a basics girl like Dylan...
As for Shane and selfishness, I think she's earned the right to be a little selfish, afterall it sounds like her entire family just abandoned her as a kid...she's destructive in relationships because she's actually afraid of getting too attached to anybody...but I truly thing she and Carmen can make things work!!! They are just adorable together...
As for adorable, well, I still hold out hope for some kind of Alice and Dana reunion, if only just to give us viewers a little decent closure on this chapter...

This would certainly be an interesting twist given Tina's recent rejuventation to being straight. That Freudian slip with Helena about why straight women don't want the hassle of being a Lesbian was a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

Its almost too realistic, the acting in regards to Dana's cancer...the way its being played out. I can barely watch it, which means its fantastic (lost my mother to breast cancer...so yeah)
Go Alice...way to take control of the situation. For better or worse, Alice loves Dana, even if that means she has to watch her be with someone else.

I think what makes it so depressing is the thing about that type of cancer, once it hits the lymph nodes and spreads- the survival rates are tiny so the reality of it is we are more than likely going to see the downfall and death of a Miss Dana Fairbanks. In the process I'm guessing we're going to see her relationship with Lara fall apart, and Dana clinging to Alice.
So sad....Dana is their baby gay. I demand Lara be kept as a permanent *shakes fist* in her place.

Tho for some reason i think the whole connection thing will connect Marilyn in ep1 to one of the main characters like shane or jenny and turn out to be their mum or something, so i'm guessing that for there to be like 5 more after bette next week, it might be Alice then 3 or 4 ppl to Shane or Jenny!

I was curious as to how they were gonna fit the guy from last week's random act of sex in with girls again, and I didn't expect to see one of the main characters in the pre-ep snippet, and it was awesome! F*ing LOVED

I thought Alice's giddyness with Ula was hilarious, and I am so glad that she finally got over Dana. It was an important step that was neccessary in order for her to support Dana and Lara.
Carmen's reaction to Shane was unexpected and humorous, a nice change from the bitch she was last ep...and Shane's hair, love it! When did Jenny's hair get that long? Or was I just not paying attention? While I liked how forgiving Jenny was with catching Max, (because who is she to call the kettle black?) I found that her reaction was perhaps light, and may encourage Max to repeat her sins.
I love how cute Helena was in trying to figure out straight women, and the irony in how Alexandra Hedison played straight, and how this has never happened before. Great kiss between them tho!
And the situation with Dana breaks my heart. I can't even begin to describe the feelings...:(
Oh, and I hope that the writers or cast is reading this, but season 3 is shaping up to be such a great one, the plotlines that draw us closer and closer to the tv, awesome cast, and the tackling of more diverse issues, much like that of S1. Just fricken awesome! :crispay: :lword:

While I have loved Jenny from the start, now that so many seem to love her she's getting less screen time. Boo! I have an idea on how to correct this horrible problem. Ditch Moira's character and fill in the excess time with more Jenny scenes. kkthx!
I appreciate it that she is understanding of Moira, but I just don't like the character. She's just not really likeable. She doesn't have the draw to her that Carmen and Helena did last season. Both those characters made you feel something. Be it discord or empathy -- Moira's scenes just make me want to get up and make a sandwich.
I feel bad for Lara, but I still never saw much chemistry between the characters at all. What was there just seemed so shallow. I loved the way Dana reached out to Alice and how Alice stood up to Dana's parents because she knew Lara wouldn't. That was wonderful. Alice standing in the doorway, hesitant to enter Dana's room, just tore me up.
Loved the scene with Tina and Bette coming home to what's-his-name and Kit - Cracked me up. Still reserving my judgement on his character, but as one can probably tell, he hasn't made a wonderful impression on me since I can't even think of his name.
I really don't understand how everyone went to a party and planned dates when Dana was scheduled to have her surgery that day. Sure, she didn't let on how serious it was -- But we're (they're) women -- It's serious regardless whether or not it's Benign or Malignant.
Jenny's book being published is just great - Though I worry on how the publisher wants to make it a biography rather then fiction. Jenny didn't seem comfortable with it, but then she was tossed a hefty check and forgot that. I anticipate a lot of conflicts. (Which means, possibly, more Jenny time! Yay!)

but um as for billie blakie.. i think he's ok. i mean, i definatly think they need more gay guys on the l word.. so maybe thats why im clinging to him so much. he has his moments where he is rather entertaining and what not.. but he also has his moments when he gets on my nerves.
i agree that lara and dana do not have any chemistry this season.. but i think they had some great scenes and chemisty in the beginning of season 1. the scene of them at bette and tina's where they thought everyone was sleeping.. that was great. and im sorry but what about the scene at the restaraunt (sp?) where dana breaks up with lara.. but before they do lara talks all dirty to her..
i LOVE dirty talking lara better than this over protective mom type lara.. but i can understand with dana being sick.. but even before they found out about her lump their scenes were so.. blah. bring back old lara! i hope they keep her around for season 4 and i hope she slowly gets back to the old sexy lara.
and on a side note.. where is the red hair?!?!? i miss the red headed lara. :cry:

Lara - I just don't feel anything from her. I did not even feel that she was that upset due to Dana's illness.
Shane & Carmen - I thought Carmen and Shane were done, but I see they are not :-( I just think Carmen is rude and witch! The way she speaks to Moira is just plain mean and nasty! "oh I guess you are happy you have a gf that is making money now!" Ugh! I just don't see Shane with her.
Tina and Bette - The story line is tired, it is time for them to move on.
Mangus and Kit - Yuck and more yuck
Moira - I like her, I dont like the transexual part, but I like her, she seems sweet.
Jenny - I love her

Just finished watching this eppy... and all I have to say is if the viewers are not drawn to this show after ep's 5 & 6 then they will never be satisfied.
I feel like i've been through an emotional rollercoaster. Bravo to everyone of the castmembers, the writers, directors I was glued to my pc screen and didn't wanna blink in case i missed anything.
Too bad we can't fully discuss this until feb 12. I kinda feel bad watching them in advance but that kinda lasted for 5 min.. :lol:
WOW...I only wish the season was longer than 12 eppy's and if it doesn't get picked up again i will be dissapointed because this has to be by far the best season.
People are upset that this character and that character are not meshing and so on and so on, but its a drama and if everyone lived happily ever after no one would be watching. The pot must be stirred every so often and with the short seasons it means more often..
Stay tuned its getting better and better...

[color=white:485c804809]Maybe I'm just totally horrible, but even in this episode I didn't feel it between Lara and Dana. As for the rest of the couples (happy) I could almost feel heat and passion coming off the screen. I'll say it beofre anybody else does, yes Dana is sick and she's worried and this changes things in a relationship, but seriously I haven't felt the je ne sais quoi with these two all season yet...now Alice on the other hand. The moment Dana saw her in the hospital room I saw a kind of expression that seems reserved for Alice. It's pure affection. I just wish we could have all seen what happen between the seasons so we could understand just where Dana and Alice had left things, the general context is there, but we all know in relationships it's in the details...am I right? And yes I loved Dana and Alice together, they were each others perfect foil, equal part silly and serious...
As for another couple. Yeah, I hated Bette for sleeping with Candace...but the girl has gone beyond doing her penance for that. She is more than I think we could have imagined. And Tina, what a b***h. She asked Bette back into her life, allowed Bette to re-invest in their family emeotionally, and now she's shutting her out. Bette is trying so hard, I feel for her...even though it goes against all my principles I totally wanted Bette to let the Senator show her way more than her Art Collection...
As for Shane and Carmen, well WOW just about sums it up. Carmen is really Shane's angel...and vice versa!!! These two are a sheer delight...
Jenny is the seasons biggest surprise. She has become so strong, not quite normal (but who is) but just the way she so almost unfazed by anything...telling Moira "just don't hide". Jenny used to irritate the crap outta me but now I can't wait for her scenes. She's almost like a Bette in training, an independant mother hen...
As for the decadent presence of Ms. Alexandra Hedison (Ellen, really??!) I can't wait to see where this is going...
I love the blurred lines this season. The lack of sexual definition is really refreshing; it's great to see a demonstration of sexual fluidity...from Lesbian Vampires to married bisexual?? Senators in understanding relationships!!![/color:485c804809]
