dinah, which party was better?i went to the girl bar events, and while they were fun, they didn't blow me away or anything. i'm curious to find out what the other promoter's events were like. were they crowded? was it more/less expensive ($10 for a small jack cocktail at one of the girl bar events was a little ridiculous i thought, i'd never been happier to see an $8 drink in my life, and i'm willing to shell out the dough for good booze, but jack?), were the girls friendly? i'm wondering if we should do club skirts instead next year. any other critiques/comments? CLUB SKIRTS ROCKED!!
I ended up shelling out $190 for the All access pass and additional $20 for the "Be Scene" with the L Word show. I was a little unhappy about the steep price, but all of the events were totally worth it.
I chose Club Skirts because they definitely had the best lineup for Lesbian Celebrities. Plus, there was a midnight concert with india.arie that rocked my socks.
Lesbian Line-Up: Amanda Bearse (Marcy D'arcy from Married with Children), Jackie Werner !!! (Bravo's Work Out), Bitch, God-des and She, The L Word folks: Kate Moenning, Leisha Hailey, Jane Lynch, Alexandra Hedison; Megan Morris (last cycle of ANTM); Jenny Shimizu!!! At one point, I even saw Sheryl Swoopes and her girlfriend walking through the foyer of the Doral!!! It was non-stop celeb-spotting. Logo was also there... and I spotted Rose Troche walking around and the casts from the new Logo series.
I'm a big celebrity whore... so all of this made my weekend! Drinks and food were $8. Non-alcoholic drinks were $4. If Club Skirts scores an awesome celeb line-up again next year, that's where I'll be! Please get ELLEN and MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ!!!
