South Asian Women

Hi All,

I'm still fairly new to AE but thinks it's brilliant place to post your views, stories, etc.

I'm a late bloomer as I've just come out to a few people in the last 3 months and came to realise my sexuality in November 2010.

As I'm new to the whole LGBT scene and not been to any events or bars, I'm trying to make new friends on various online dating sites and Facebook.

I don't know what it is with South Asian gay women, in particular gay Indian women in UK but gosh they have soo much attitude. In the last week I've got attitude from 2 different individuals. 

All I'm trying to do is meet new people, make new friends. I don't want to date you women so chill out. This is what happened.

1st lady: I did a friend request on FB, she PMs and goes do I know as you keep adding me (i wasn't even aware that I kept adding her) and I go no I don't know you but I'm new to gay world and looking to meet new friends, etc and as we have a few mutual friends thought I'd add her. She goes and says just cause we have mutual friends doesn't mean I'll add you, etc. I said find, chill out.

2nd lady: Again several mutual friends, didn't friend request her but she's got an album of various celebrity women. So I thought I'd PM her and tell her to add a few more ladies that were missing. She replies saying do i know you, well I never said I knew her in the first and then she replies back with a bitchy attitude on why this and that women shouldn't be added and to start my own album. I replied again, chill out and thanks for your input.

I'm not the straight up type of person and just try to be friendly. I wasn't even flirting at all with these 2 ladies. I don't know what got their underwear in a twist, but attitude like this seriously puts you off your own ethnicity.

The non South Asian women that I'm chatting to are actually so much nicer, but then the South Asian women say they aren't. It's like a whole racist thing going on.

I'm not even trying so hard to find friends either so don't know why they are giving me this attitude.

Anyone else had a similar experience with their own ethnicity??
