For me it was the scene when Dana broke up with Lara. It was so emotional, you knew that Dana didn't want to do it but felt she had no choice. I gained a lot of respect for Erin Daniels as an actress after watching that. I think it was her absolute best scene of the entire season.

Unless that Candace will use her after she decided to dump her. Bette needs a compassionate person near her side that will give her alot of attention. Tina lacks that. the moments that broke my heart:

1.- Marina saying to jenny that she is n love iwth her... this phone message in the last chapter of the first season...
2.- Jenny saying to marina: that she feels completly dismantled everytime she is around.
3.- Dana-Lara breakup :(
4.- Shane being in love with Cherie Jaffe, and Cherie saying that she´d rather to have her travels to paris.. etc etc.

What broke my heart from this last episode (3.05) is that
1) Dana's breast cancer, and the difference in which her and Lara deal with it, and how she wants to give up tennis because of it.

2)Cherie Jaffy (or whaterever her maiden name is now)'s return, although I do love her character, it just makes me sad that Shane would go through that again:( Just absolutely breaks me to think about what would happen if Cherie broke Shane's heart again.

3) Tina's newfound discovery in her attraction to men again, and her deceit to Bette.

4) seeing Lauren Lee Smith credited as a guest, and not seeing her name in the opening credits.:(

As for the show being too negative, I myself find that it is quite realistic and representative of human nature. Seriously, if you and a bunch of your girlfriends were tight, almost everyone would have something to say about an "outside" member.

I agree. Dana is the reason I continue to watch the show...whether with Lara or Alice. I think IF the decision is to kill off this character (trying to stay neutral in my words), then Ilene Chaiken had done a poor job of writing. Yes, young people do get breast cancer and some do die from it, but Dana is probably mid to late 20s and we never heard if it ran in her family. Realistically, treating her with chemo and radiation would clear her up or at least put her in remission. The story is realistic, the end result may or may not be and that breaks my heart. :(

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Not having seen any of the other episodes or read any of the spoilers (though I've been tempted), I can say that if Dana is killed off on the show, I'll be extremely disappointed. It'd send a message to women that no matter what your family history is and no matter what your health condition is, learning you have breast cancer is a death sentence. It'd be a really irresponsible storyline.

the whole season for me is heartbreaking...what happen to the funny story line from season 1 and 2...i think this season is way too depressing.. i hope it improve...or else i won't have my heart anymore since this serie is breaking it into pieces... :(

Yeah sure its a great loss (dana) but thats life and from my side i've lost already three people to cancer ... as ugly as it may sound, im kinda getting used to it...

i don't like that they killed dana off when she had so much more potential for growth, and that many storylines are disconnected on the show....

I know tis a bit late to be posting but I just joined the forum *waves*. What really makes me sad is a) when tina tries to tell Alice what happened and can't write candice on the chart and b)when mr piddles was killed!! I mean... I loved that cat!!

Any scene where Tina and Bette are being Sarky and cold to each other really cuts me up. But i'm kinda wanting something to happen between Bette and Helena! :wink:
And when Dana died... i was so upset, mum was like "wtf?!?" Just Alice sliding down to wall was too much to bear.

I saw this episode for the first time two days ago (yeah, we're late in Belgium, that suscks , I know), and you're damn right, this scene is hard to watch. I didn't cry but it was close!!!!

When Lara walked pass the tennis court after their break-up.

And the scene when Bette got home after learning about Tina's miscarriage (sp) and yet those pple nasty pple were outside their house creating trouble!

Wow there are so many heartbreaking scenes in season 1. I have to agree that Tina breaking down on Alice when trying to write on the chart, that bit did make me cry.Dana and Laura's break up had me choked up too. i think the scene when Bette comes home just after Tina's worked out shes been cheating on her is so upsetting. just the desperate feeling so well shown in that whole scene.*sobs*
and i have to add the scene when Tina loses her baby, that whole bit makes me cry (its also really well acted).

There were so many. i thought when dana and lara broke up was, and when she walked past the tennis courts. But what i found the worst seemed to be everytime Tina cried, when she lost her baby, stupid bette cheating on her with stupid candace. but i cried the most at the end of the last one when she tried to write candaces name on the chart...sniff...gets me everytime... :tears:

Without a doubt the most heartbreaking part for me was in the final episode, when Tina found out about miss toolbag and Bette and uttered the words "I know ....I saw it ". you could see and feel her heart break...gets me every time.

pretty much the whole second half of the show makes me sad. like seriously, in the begining it was all funny and cute and then it just turned so ugly. when tina loses the baby and the people show up with the signs omg i felt sick pretty much from then on. like the season didnt end with anything even remotely close to happy which i know is probably to keep people watching but damn. throw me a bone here! just one thing i dont get...after dana came out all the way, how come she never went back to lara? its not like they had an all out ending fight. i for sure thought shed go back and apologize and ask for a second chance. weird. but i really hope her and alice get together. they are so obviously into each other since the begining with them teasing and all. cute stuff. man all these sad things and i must wait until season 2 comes out on dvd for them to be resolved cuz i dont have showtime! :evil:

I'm sure I'm in a minority here, but I actually felt bad for Tim. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy who totally got screwed over. I think the whole grabbing Marina's arm was probably out of character for him (not that it was excusable). Sorry, but I'm really not impressed by cheating storylines. I tend to side with the wronged parties.

reagan i am totally on your side. actually thats something i left out of my post, that i dont think tim is an asshole at all as some others have said. i just hate when the cheated on always blame the person their other half did the cheating with, ie tim blamed marina. marina owes tim nothing but jenny does so its pretty much all her fault that she was weak and gave in but worst of all lied so blatently about it. tim should have been furious with jenny and grabbed her if anyone instead of pretty much making her marry him. then he lets her still live there just shoving it in his face. hes not being good to himself and its sad. and yeah cheaters suck. i cant believe they had to make bette cheat on alice. cant one strong long lasting couple make it for once?

Yeah, I feel bad for Tim as well, he was a pretty laid back character, allowing his fiance a lot of freedom, like going out with her ex-prof, who she blew, and encouraging her to hang out with Marina's group (oops, guess he's regretting that decision!). And he is an all around nice guy, who tolerates with such an annoying character as Jenny (sorry Jenny fans).

when dana breaks up w/ lara, also i agree with the dana coming out to her parents thing didnt get the desired reaction, i dont know why exactly i guess it was sad the first time i saw it but later one it doesnt seem that sad...

it's all about the bette/tina scenes for me.....

When bette comes home after she's found out tina has lost the baby and then goes outside, trying to be so strong when those protestors are there and she staggers, nearly falling over, cos of the pain she's suffering, but still manages to go back in and hold it all together and be strong for tina.

but then she goes and blows it by cheating on tina and the scene that really chokes me, is when tina trys to write 'candace' on alice's board - god, it gets me everytime.

I think the more I watch it, the more I care for the characters and get more upset when things happen.. Dana and Lara breaking up, Shane getting her heart broken just makes me sooo sad, and Tina when she sees Bette and Candece together and when she is sitting there waiting for Bette to confront her.. I cry every time!!!

i think its really sad when that a-hole tells bette god took their baby, but i also felt really bad for the a-hole when bette was talking about porn, and she knew bette was meaning her daughter .. like i wanted to give the a-hole a hug. :hug: then i felt really sorry for shane when whatshername said shed never leave her life for a 25 yo nothing basically. rudeness.

I think that while I feel like someone stabbed me in the heart whenever something bad happens to one of the characters, I feel especially bad for Shane and Dana, prolly cos they are the characters I love the most on TLW.
