Loving Annabelle and/or Lost and Delirious

Umm... overall it's probably got to be the Swedish film 'Show Me Love' for me, because not only do the girls have good chemistry (a rarity in lesbian movies), it's actually a good movie overall and one that I would probably want to watch even if it wasn't lesbian-themed (an even greater rarity in lesbian movies!)

I would say 'Gia' purely for the chemistry between Angelina Jolie and Elizabeth Mitchell, and the way that relationship is portrayed, which is fantastic... overall it's waaaaay too depressing to be a favourite movie, though.

I also love the French film ' Un Amour de Femme'... not that much happens plotwise, but again, great chemistry between the leads...

But there are a lot of movies I have seen (But I'm A Cheerleader, Desert Hearts, D.E.B.S etc) that weren't terrible, but which I just feel kind of blah about. I mean Desert Hearts... OK, it looks beautiful, and OK, the lesbians don't kill themselves which is all to the good... but so incredibly little happens. They meet each other, they fall in love, and.... that's it. And I do like Patricia Charbonneau's character, but Helen Shaver's character is just so dull. It's hard to see why Cay really falls for her in the way that she does.

"But I'm A Cheerleader" gave me a few good chuckles, but I'm a sucker for the International films. I love "Show Me Love", "Aimee and Jaguar", and "Fire", not necessarily in that order.

Bound. Ironic that it was written and directed by two fellas.

Other than that, D.E.B.S., But I'm A Cheerleader, and the first half of Gia.

The original short of D.E.B.S. is far better than the feature. And you can now get it on ITunes. Fantastic.

I quite enjoyed Goldfish Memory, but I think that was mostly for the shots of Dublin. Hmmmm. Maybe that says something about how bad most lesbian films are when the location is more inspiring than the acting, or the story, or the ending....

Speaking of using Rilke as a pick-up line, Kissing Jessica Stein was a damn good movie, even if she does turn out to be not quite gay enough.

Red Doors/Saving Face - i have such an asian-tooth.

Imagine Me & You - it makes me giggle like a schoolgirl.

Aimee and Jaguar - the suspense is killer and cinematography beautiful.

Show Me Love - i can relate SO much.

My favorite lesbian movie would have to be Imagine Me and You. 100% no questions asked.

oh! and this korean movie about a girl who gets obsessed with photographing death. She's a lesbian. It's called abnormal beauty.

Thats a tough one because i like so many of them...but i think i'd go with Loving Annabelle as being my favourite because that's the one i've seen the most amount of times...

The other films i love are: Imagine me and you, But i'm a Cheerleader, DEBS, Better than Chocolate and The truth about jane....

It is hard to decide. But as for now:

As for now I need to watch positve movies, so that is my choice :)

 I would choose Tipping the Velvet, i just love that movie so much.  Def. fave of mine.

Saving Face, I don't watch a lot of movies, but this one is not too bad, even my old housemate loves it

Saving face for its reality that you have to fight for what you want but be prepared to admit you were wrong and not hide what you truly feel.

Imagine me and you, the comedy but respect of another even though you want them - lena headey wanting piper pedro.(and lena heady has some awesome tatoos)!!! 

The first lesbian movie I watched was All Over Me with Alison Folland and Leisha Hailey in it. I loved it and totally related to all that lesbo teenage angst. The longing for woman-to-woman contact, having a straight best friend and feeling like no-one understands... Yep, love that movie.

I also like Better Than Chocolate - Wendy Crewson is so damn fine!

And my favourire one ever (even though it's not really a 'lesbian movie' per se) is The Hunger. Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon just SIZZLE! "Are you flirting with me Mrs Blalock?" ...Oh god, I just love it!

Fingersmith is my favorite.

It's really hard to actually pick one that I truly like. Because, honestly, most lesbian movies suck.

I like the first segment of If These Walls Could Talk 2. Vanessa Redgrave is incredible as the elderly woman who loses her long time partner and is faced with all the difficulties that existed for gay women in those days. Also, Paul Giamatti is great as the awkward son. The rest of ITWCT2 didn't appeal to me, though.

But I'm a Cheerleader has a sarcastic edge to its comedy that I like. It mocks people that deserve to be mocked. But it kind of pulls its punches at times though, which is unfortunate. It slides down the slippery slope of an ordinary romantic comedy towards the end.

Bound is nice. It's a decent noir'esque thriller, but I won't lie to you, I primarily like it because Gina Gershon is hotter than anything in history as the butch Corky. And the steaming sex scenes with Jennifer Tilly doesn't hurt either.

Tipping the Velvet has its charm too. Fingersmith is on the same general level of "ok" as well.

I also like the mood of When Night is Falling. Plus, the french-canadian accent of Pascale Bussières is impossible to resist.

All other are pretty much bleh, as far as I'm concerned.

Basically just felt it was a sunny, optimistic and funny version of "real/normal" life. And the acting, photography etc looked professional.

Ok let start:

Gia / Bound: Because of those 2, I started questioning my sexual orientation

High hart / Lost and delirious : I had to admit it to myself "I like girls"

Red doors / saving face / les filles du botaniste : OK !!! I have a thing for asian girls. LOL

High heart / fucking amal: I don't know why, but everytime I think about those 2 films, I feel pain in my chest. It's strange !!!

D.E.B.S. / Imagine me and you / Loving Annabelle / Tipping the velvet / If these walls could talk 2 (the first 2 stories): cause I can see myself with a smile everytime I think about those.

But overall if I was force to choose only 2, it would be Gia and Lost and delirious.

So, i have only seen D.E.B.S, Lost and Delirious, and Imagine Me & You, and, I have to say, I did not enjoy the first two. DEBS was poorly made, and the romance was not believable to me. Lost and Delirious was a little better, but Piper's character had some issues. I really like IM&Y as a movie and a lesbian romance film. Very believable and the characters really did seem head over heels for each other.

Btw, it was wierd, i got that movie before i came out on video and put it on my ipod. I liked watching it all the time and than stopped because, well, i watched it all the time. Than, i walked into my parents room the other day, and they were watching it on HBO.

Wierd.

I just left. I think my dad already expects me to be gay anyway, but i'm the femme-ist lesbian you'll ever meet.

i'm a movie buff and by far, this movie has got to be the most romantic movie ever made, hetero or homo-wise.  no picture has ever perfected the concept of a romantic film that transcends gender.

I really enjoyed Imagine Me & You.  The romance was incredably sweet and the chemistry between Piper Perabo and Lena Headey was fabulous.  Sure it wraps up a tad too conveniently for all in involved, but it works for me.
