There's a really weird place in Madrid called "666". It's a goth bar that transforms into a gay bar at midnight. Mostly guys, though, at least when I was there. At least in my experience (which isn't that much) Spanish gay bars tend to be pretty mixed (gay men and women, not exclusively lesbian or male bars).

Can help you out with the South (Málaga and Granada), but haven't really been around the "ambiente" in Madrid and Barcelona, sorry.

In Madrid there is a hole neighbourhood called "Chueca". It's the gay neighbourhood, full of gay bars, gay people and everything.

It's not dificult to find it becouse of the flags everywhere. It's close to the street "Fuencarral".

This is from Madrid.It´s true there´s a gay neighbourhood in Madrid called Chueca and it´s true there are no exclusives bars or clubs for gay men and women, however the ones at La Plaza de Chueca(there´s a subway stop right there)are basically for girls:TRUCO;SOHO;BOHEMIA and SCAPE but the best way to start the night and if you want to meet cute girls is going to FULANITADETAL which is pretty close to the Plaza de Chueca. http://www.fulanitadetal.com/fla/index.htm

I'm from Barcelona, so I think I can help you.

My favourite lesbian bar is D-Mer, wish is a small bar with good looking girls and nice music.

Kiut Disco is quite similar but bigger.

Then there's a posh lesbian party 2 sundays each month at elephant called Next town girls.

Aire is a lesbian disco, a really crowded one, but as boys can get in too it's pretty mixed. Girs there are really young (16 or so).

Then there's lesfatales with indie dykes.

And then divina's wich is a cool disco too.

The gaybourhood in barcelona is called Gayxample but not all the cool bars are there.

When you get to spain you shoud look for a free magazine called shangay, there are all the gay and lesbian bars with maps.

I was in barcelona a few weeks ago, and I also found the staff at El Gato Negro, a small mixed gay boy/gay girl pub in the eixample by the University of Barcelona very helpful in directing me to the gay spots.

also, make it to parc guell., the best park ever. i'd even venture it's better than la sagrada familia, as a visitor destination, because the cathedral is not finished.
