I've met her - she's really sweet (and I was a complete dork). Not pretentious at all.

She's currently forming an all girls band to play at Mich Fest. And I can't wait for her new album.

I LOVE SARAH !!! She's my fav singer. One year ago I saw her for the first time. She has wonderful voice and she's a very nice person.

I missed the european scream tour too but I can't wait to see her this year.

First of All, Thx for posting the pics!

OK--Mara--When I read your blog I totally thought I might actually faint if I had the opportunity to talk to Sarah. (Thus subj. title.) Or else I wouldn't be able to say anything. I'd be like on of those girls I always thought were so stupid that you see meeting Elvis or The Beatles.

Once I read about a fan sharing a sandwich with her, which is crazy to me. LOL. I can't remember the circumstances.

Great clips. Also on Utube, there is a particularly funny one of her dancing around in a wig. You have to go and check it out, but you have to listen to the v. end to see how really funny it is.

Jodi, I surprised myself. I mean, I play in a band myself (and recently a bass player of another band approached me to come and jam with her band...) so I'm sorta used to being amongst musicians. I never thought I'd be star struck! I totally dorked out! For a couple of minutes I was that awkwardly shy teenager again... Sheesh.

Yes, I am determined to go to MI Womyn's Festival to see her! (Plus it will also otherwise be totally awesome.) But, of course, that will be the best part.

I think I may have decided on an avatar, at least for awhile. What's a girl to do? There are so many great pics out there to choose from! I totally wanted my hair to look like this at one point, but I could never get it to style right. Damn. She even has better hair than me! Oh well, have now accepted that my hair lacks the necessary volume to carry off that style.

Did I just type that? Yes, yes, I did. Maybe in MI I can ask her what "product" she uses in her hair. What do you think she'd say? My guess is she'd be thinking, WTF, but try to make up something nice. Unless she doesn't know what I mean by product.

You rock Mara! I'd never heard that remix or Pave the Way (which was great.) And I've never been to that site. More new pics! I know you've been to her site, so I'm sure you know about this already, but right now on her official site they've got two of her full shows you can watch through Fabchannel and they are excellent quality.

This one's great, it's the acoustic duo and while she's singing Come Over Here something is up with the guitar (I think that's the problem.) and they start laughing and have to start over. It never ceases to amuse me.

But my current favorite version of that song is just the video of the single . I've listened to it so many times that my 3-yr-old daughter knows the words. She will ask me who is singing out of the computer and I'll tell her Sarah, so she says she's Sarah and runs around singing, "Come over here" over and over again. She also does this with Maps from the YYY's. (Equally entertaining.)

I'd also like to say I totally love that she puts videos and stuff on her site!

I haven't listened to much K's Choice or Sarah stuff during the last time but thanks to this thread I'm into it again :)

To bad I moved back to my parents. I used to live near Cologne so it was easy to drive to Belgium or the Netherlands for concerts but now I'm too far away. I can only hope there'll be some gigs in Germany this year.

Mara--That's a great site! And, Woolf, thank you sooo much for the pics. I wish I had more unique stuff to offer. I hope you don't mind, but I've been playing around with them. I'm putting together some wallpapers, and of course new avatars. Am going to video daughter singing and will put it up so y'all can see. She was doing it again last night. Maybe I can get her to say she's Sarah. Like I said she does Maps (Y,Y,Y's) and also Shock the Monkey (Peter Gabriel), Cash Machine (Hard Fi)--which she calls "Scratchy Living"), Neon (John Mayor) and All the Things I've Done (Killers) although she never recognizes that one until the "I got soul..." part. I'll do a montage. You know, she is getting v. particular in her taste for music b/c when stuff comes up on the Ipod she'll yell for me to pass it sometimes.

Wanted to ask y'all's opinions, every once and awhile I'll see a pic and think, Sarah, "You totally need to eat a sandwich!" She looks like she's lost A LOT of weight. But then some of the pics from the same show she'll look totally great. Don't get me wrong, you KNOW I totally love her! I've never seen her in person, so what do y'all think? There's that one pic you took, Woolf of her backside (which was really funny to me for some reason b.c I could just imagine her dancing around on the stage, etc.) and her thighs don't touch, which is not good actually. I'll post some examples later, but right now I'm off to this Bob Dylan exhibit at our campus museum. Am volunteering w/some teenagers at a writing workshop.

She did lose some weight; she used to be "curvier". Somewhere I have a couple of old photographs taken back in her early K's Choice days (back then they were called "The Choice) with Sarah wearing tan cords a lilac colored blouse and sporting a freshly bleached 'do (up till then I had never seen her with bleached blonde hair) and she wasn't as thin as she is now.

You're not the first one who wondered about that, jodi... She's kinda thin, but she has "love handles"... Can't wait for a vid starring your daughter.

K, I just posted that and noticed I didn't write what I was going to write on it and don't feel like editing the post, so here are some pics I think are not so scary. The ONE pic in there that I think is a good example of her being much thinner is the way her shoulders jut from her shirts when she's got that thermal on--and that's under two layers of clothes. I didn't bother to put up another pic b/c I think the first one you put up (Woolf) is a pretty good example of what I'm talking about.

I was thinking about it today b/c I have absolutely no gaydar (and you're thinking, how does this apply?) Well, to be honest, I was inpatient twice for ED and spent 7 months in a long-term treatment program so I can pick an ED person out of a crowd like no other. (Most of us can.) I've never been wrong about a friend or casual acquaintance. You can just tell. On the other hand, I'd have to be hanging around in the QSCC study lounge to tell who's gay, and even then I can't pick out the people who are just friends and allies. So sad, really.

Anyway, here are some good examples of her not being super skinny. And the one in the green tank is not even that long ago is it? I mean, she's naturally a thin person, so it doesn't take much to cross over to looking very, very thin (10-20 lbs). I've also got this HILARIOUS picture of her in a dress, but it's v. small and low quality, so I'm going to change my avatar to it, but you can clearly see how much more she weighed in that pic.

Personally, I think she's totally hot in the dress, but I'm sure at the time she was thinking, why the hell am I wearing this effing dress, cause back then I was thinking, why do I have the hots for this person in a dress?

I'm really, really hoping it's just stress from the new tour. etc. She's a bit old to be just developing an ED, so I'd think it would be something she'd struggled with in the past and that this would be a relapse, etc, so I'm thinking probably a no, as she looked to be a normal weight in years past. I'm hoping not because it's horrible, horrible and I want her to be as happy as she seems to be.

So,

I just happened to really sit and listen to Her song All. It really made me think about her previous marriage, and the fact that I'm just now divorced, and just lesbians in general who are married. Did her husband know the whole time they were married? I thought I'd read something about them like that, or at least them separating amicably and/or her having been in a serious lesbian relationship and out to her husband long before they divorced.

I've never read anything about the fact that her husband would have known..

I think she was very committed in that relationship considering also that she moved to the US.

I was a huge K's choice fan and I guess most of Belgium ( etc) kinda always suspected something...

I think she is really great about it. She is definately very down to earth and doesn't act like a rockstar at all.

The one time I met her she was really sweet.

anyway the new album should be out this year ! can't wait!

Saw her live a couple of times and also on the whisper tour which was absolutely amazing!

Hey mangopeach. Both her ex-husband and Sarah didn't know when they met and subsequently married eachother. She was indeed very committed in that relationship, but never knew she was missing out - until she met her current partner. She stated in an interview that it was as if a light in a dark room was switched on.

I agree: Sarah's not pretentious at all, she doesn't have an attitude. Very sweet and patient to fans (including the star struck ones - I assure you!)... But so are the guys in the band: they're all very sweet.

omg I had such a great weekend. i'm in texas right now visiting (a really great) friend. this friend produced a festival this weekend and sarah was there too. we picked her up at the airport and she stayed with us. and later she also played two of her new songs for us. it was great. she is such a nice person.
