surrounded by catholics

ok. frustration vent.

naturally, health care came up today. tried to bite my tongue but the pro-lifers i was around didn't care, or hadn't heard that several countries w/free health care have significantly lower abortion rates sooooo wouldn't it be pushing for HCR? of curse, they brought it back to moral/religious reasons. "no tax dollars for something so abhorrent" uh wars go against a lot of people's morals/religion but they still pay taxes toward it. the most obnoxious part of this argument with these two MEN was that one doesn't read anything but harry potter, or watch anything but spongebob and icarly. no i wasn't talking to justin bieber. this is a 21 yr old whose ex-GF terminated a pregnancy a few years ago. 

Silly me brought up the strange fact that catholic bishops are lobbying congress to block HCR because of abortion. Men who don't marry and take vow of celibacy are preaching to women and couples about their sex lives and reproductive health? 

we ended our discussion when they said the pedophile problem and vatican cover up had been wildly exaggerated. by ended, of course, i mean i pinched my myself while walking away. surely i was having a nightmare.
