The World Unseen

In the past week I have watched I Can't Think Straight and The World Unseen. Both brilliant films and both featuring the gorgeous Lisa Ray and Sheetal Sheth.

I have the habit, good or bad, of researching a film after I have seen it. I was looking into the actors and read on wikipedia that Lisa Ray was diagnosed with an incurable cancer mid last year. It took my breath away to read. So just needed to share.

See these movies and witness the brilliance of them and the actors in them.

most swoon-worthy line

hi - these two films deserve our support.  lesbian filmmakers with groundbreaking vision, actors who are committed to the text regardless of the societal pressures felt in many of the communities they are supposed to 'represent'... and, of course, both wonderful actors and breathtakingly beautiful.  all of us, too, can learn a great deal from lisa ray's extraordinary decision to share so publicly her experience as she tackles some very real demons to try and beat this disease.  her eloquence and commitment to the fight is awe-inspiring.  see her blog.

ALSO as a precursor to a new forum topic I'm about to start, The World Unseen contains the MOST SWOON-WORTHY LINE in recent film history - partly because its said in a very non-sexual context. Its the WAY that its said, you know? ... Amina to Miriam - "Are you ready for me?"

Oh, just stop it.
