Brighton Meet Up? (UK)

Well a few girls have expressed an interest in meeting up in Brighton sometime soonish so thought I'd start a topic for it...

We started talking about it in the under 20 forum but all ages welcome, although if we're going to bars/clubs it does help to be 18+

Anyone interested please post and we can sort out a date and time, and somewhere to meet! Am happy to meet those unfamiliar with the city at the train station if needed (you can't get lost on the train, Brighton is the last stop wherever you come from). I think the general idea is bars and not clubs, but it depends on what everyone wants. We could also meet earlier in the day and do something then too. Post ideas because I'm useless at these things!

Also, message me if you want to swap facebooks and stuff. I personally prefer to do this before meeting up with people as it's a little safer in terms of knowing who you're meeting.

I lived in Brighton for four years and just moved back to Eastbourne which a quick train away if your planning on a night out I would suggest Revenge. Fridays currently star the recent reject from X Factor or Saturday nights are amazing. I would have to wait for first train home at 5.30am though so if people fancy an all nighter lets go for it.

Just moved to Brighton a couple of months ago but know a couple of people already, who would surely like to meet new people, so...

I'll say yes to the meet up it'll be awesome, of course being a student and working part time I may have to drop out at the last minute...I'd also swap facebook but I don't have one lol I feel very useless lol

Yeah Revenge isn't bad! Bit tacky sometimes but most of the gay clubs are sadly. Thursday is girls night but it can be a bit hit and miss. Would also agree with friday and saturday.

Maybe sometime nearer christmas, when universities are on holiday - might be easier? What do people think?

National Student Pride is on in Brighton March 6th and involves a day event and pub crawl and club night in the evening

I work in Falmer most days at the Sussex Uni and am able to go clubbing either friday or sat in brighton it just means i have to get first train at 5.12am home

Yeah sounds good am stewarding during the day but should be free to enjoy the evening. I work at the York House Co-op store and Falmer House shop that sells the hoodies. Work most wednesdays York House this week 4.30-close and thursdays 12-5 and friday 11-5.30 on Friday in Falmer Shop.

It's pretty easy to get into the gay clubs in Brighton generally! I've hardly seen R-Bar or Revenge ask for ID. If you don't look 12 you should be alright =)

Revenge ID everyone unless your a regular that they remember like me and if the meet up is happening for student pride everyone gets id'd before they are allowed inside the venues

Oh...well I must look like someone else then because the first time I went there, I wasn't IDed! And I've only been IDed there once since then. And a friend of mine brought her underage cousin there during the girls on top special pink foam party night, and they didn't ID her either - and she really didn't look 18, and she'd never been there before. Same for R-Bar. Come to think of it, I don't remember ever being IDed in Charles Street either.

I'll take your word for it on the student pride thing though, I wouldn't know about that! Makes sense though.

I think it also depends on the bouncer as I know some are defo more strict than others. I just know when i go out the people in front of me in the queue generally get id'd. I guess it depends on the night really

Hey, just got to Brighton 3 weeks ago for study abroad. Met some great people already but don't see an issue with meeting some more. Would deffo be down for a meet up and Revenge is always a go for me. What's been sorted then??

I think they have a stall outside Cockcroft Library on Thursday or you can buy online. But they will guarantee you a ticket.

 

Thats cool I have a killer shift 2moro 7am-8.30pm in both of the shops morning in York House and Afternoon in Falmer woo lol

I thought Monday was the last day they had a stall in the library but anyway...

 

online they are still available and it's really quick since you can pay using paypal and then you just pick up the wristband at Rbar on Friday or Oceana on Saturday with your receipt.

I saw a lot of people have expressed an interest in meeting up so I decided to just go ahead and offer you some specific times.

I'm sure you all know that there will be daytime fun activities as well as a pub crawl in the evening and club night and afterparty afterwards and I thought it might be a good idea to offer meet-up timesfor both events.

If you are looking for company for the daytime activities or simply want to meet people before the pub crawl come and meet us at the entry to oceana at 12:00 noon (Saturday 6th). We will try and make ourselves distinguishable (perhaps by an AfterEllen sign attached to the back) and will be waiting around 'til at least 12:30pm. If you want to come but can't quite make that time send me a message here and I'll give you a phone number to contact.

The pub crawl starts at 6:00pm and I would suggest we meet at the entry to Brighton Pier at 5:15pm, same procedure as at oceana. Again, I'm happy to give you guys my phone number on request but please don't misuse it!

Also a short message, saying whether who's planning to come, on here would be great, just to know if it's worth standing around and waiting. If one person writes, we'll be there. If no one does, we won't.

 

Spread the word and I will hopefully see you guys this Saturday then!
